The Unicorn Theatre on Tooley St might have something on (it’s a small theatre aimed a children/families), and if not, they have a nice little café and a cosy living room with toys, books etc. to hang out in.

Go and look at the big whacky model ship at Hayes Galleria or the Golden Hind replica. Or toddle up to Tower Bridge.

If the weather is OK, just stroll along the Thames towards Tower Bridge. It's a nice walk, with lots of eateries. Not much in the way of playgrounds, but plenty of space for dashing around like a mad thing.

Or walk along the Thames the other way, towards the South Bank (usually loads going on, if you have time to get that far).

Also not far to Tate Modern

How long is your gap? The Southbank Christmas market should be on.

The Sky Garden at the top of the "walkie talkie" is free if you can get tickets.
