Kermode and Mayo's Film Review Podcast also known as Wittertainment

flowerycurtain · 17/11/2018 21:11

The Maya Angelou series on R4.

AMAZING series and a fantastic woman.

JupiterDrops · 17/11/2018 21:13

Slow Burn- there are two series, one is all about Clinton's presidency and particularly what happened to Mónica Lewinsky, and the other is about Watergate. Both really interesting.

Also- my dad wrote a porno. So good.

The new radio 5 podcast about Waco is really good. It's called End of Days and looks at the stories of Brits who were at Waco. Absolutely fascinating.

User5trillion · 17/11/2018 21:19

My dad wrote a porno is funny not got past series 1 however- got bored. Just listened to Victorian secrets narrated by Stephen fry on audible, very good (free to subscribers) now listening to days which changed the world - very good and free.

anniehm · 17/11/2018 21:19

Yes minister/yes prime minister from audible - it's 18 hours long ish(can't remember exactly but lasted me from home to Bristol, to Heathrow, to Vancouver, to whistler- about 18 hours!

Nononononono33 · 17/11/2018 21:19

I’d second Kermode and Mayo if you like films. Would also suggest Simon Mayo Confessions - very funny...

anniehm · 17/11/2018 21:20

Or cabin pressure (listened to that on way back!)

Jupiterdawn · 17/11/2018 21:48

Thanks everyone, so much, for these great ideas. I’m actually looking forward to the journey Grin

I really like All Killa No Filla (about serial killers)

Junebug123 · 18/11/2018 10:29

If you like true crime podcasts..
'Teacher's Pet' or 'Missing Maura Murray'

MrsMartinRohde · 18/11/2018 10:37

By the Book - half reality show, half self-help podcast. It's funny.

Also Forever 35.

Another vote for Serial season 1 (and follow up with Undisclosed to go into much greater depth), and S-Town, which is brilliant

I got bored with My Dad Wrote... by the third book.

I also recommend the High Low!
