I had a job interview last Friday, still not heard

I can't believe they're going to leave me hanging for the weekend

Thanks everyone. This has taken more out of me than it should mentally and physically. I'm going to start looking after myself and my family and licking my wounds.

No nothing else.
It'd just about progression and more responsibility. I am happy. But now I'm demoralised and defeated.

I know how you feel..... But (at the risk of being pollyanna-ish) you're being shortlisted so you're obviously pitching at the right level. Did you get any useful feedback... (I stress useful because I once got feedback which basically said "as the interview went on your talent became more obvious - just bring it forward in the interview... as far as I know they didn't appoint from that round of interviews so I felt that 'feedback' was very much in the 'scrabbling around trying to say something' category...

I feel your pain. I've had eight interviews this year for promotions and I've been told after every one that I was appointable or that I was the reserve candidate but someone pipped me to the post. EVERY. TIME.

And people keep saying "at least you're getting interviews!" Aye, great, but I'm not getting the jobs so what good is it doing me? It's SO draining and disheartening.

Sorry to hear that Stealth. I'm guessing this is an internal transfer / promotion given that your line manager knows you are applying for other roles? If so, can you ask for some feedback to help you in the future?

My line manager is supportive, I'll discuss it with her later this week.
