Frozen cooked king prawns....

......what can I do with them beside making prawn mayonnaise. I impulse bought them- only ever used raw before.

If I thawed them and quickly sizzled them in garlic butter to heat through would they be OK or would they go tough?

Have they got their shells on?

If not, use them in any recipe that contains prawns. Risotto, stir fry, paella. On top of baked potato.

They defrost quickly once in the pan in my experience. I used some the other day to cook chilli, garlic and prawn spaghetti. I just fry them from frozen with the garlic, chilli and olive oil. Add cooked spaghetti and then toss together with lemon juice and parsley.

Personally I think they go a bit rubbery if you cook with them - I'd use raw ones for cooking and use these for prawn mayo / sandwiches / stuffing avocado with etc etc!

They probably would be a bit rubbery but oj for a quick curry?

You need to be really careful not to over cook it.
I use it in lots of dishes but it always turns out fine.

I defrost them for sandwiches or eating with avocados usually but have chucked them into a curry or pasta dish near the end of the cooking time.

I chucked them in hot butter with garlic and chili-they were really good-not leathery at all.
Iceland frozen king prawns in case anyone wants to try them.

The thing I found out which works is, that you defrost them and cook them for few seconds, no longer than that. I regularly make sweet and sour prawns, prawn spinatch curry, and tom yum kung, using frozen cooked king prawns and other dishes. Never had problems.
