Almonds for wound healing?

I recently had surgery, and had several incisions made.
Have read that eating almonds is good for wound healing and minimising scars.
Has anyone tried this, and how many almonds would you need to eat?

Sounds like bollocks to me. Eat what you like.

Obama reportedly ate 7 almonds as a snack, if you want to pretend to yourself that you're doing something that's a number.

Well I have never heard of this so did a quick google. Not just nuts it seems

It doesn’t say how many to eat though- sorry

Good quality protein is what you need for wound healing, be it from meat, fish or nuts.

Try sweet almond oil for the scarring. It really helped ease the pain and appearance of my radiotherapy "burn".
As for eating almonds? I'd say any high protein food would do. Good luck Flowers

I think it's just a high protein thing OP. No idea if it's bullshit or not but post surgery I have had a surgeon tell me to eat a high protein diet for recovery so I suppose he thought it was true at least! Can't do any harm can it and surgical recovery is a bigger so why not. There are probably better sources than almonds though I expect!
Hope you recover swiftly either way Flowers
