Career change suggestions

I work for the NHS in a medical role but not a Doctor. Think along the lines of Dentist/Optometrist/Audiologist. My problem is just that i feel so utterly deflated at work. I don’t get the support i require because things are ao stretched and my main issue is that i’m constantly anxious about getting things wrong which may impact the health of a patient. Working in private practice is not much better because often you are the only professional on site so have to make a clinical judgement which could again impact a patient’s health.

I’d really like to retrain in a non medical career where i don’t have to lie awake at night wondering whether i’ve made the right decisions today or not so what can i do? My salary is in the lower Band 7 bracket so ideally i’d like to earn similarly to this. Has anyone completely changed career and what did you change to?

I know this is bandied about on her and I’m cringing writing it, but do you usually suffer from anxiety?

If you are looking for a band 7 payscale, the chances are you are looking for a job that holds either some qualifications/a more senior position (by that I mean not stacking shelves etc / responsibility and with that comes the fact that a decision you make, if it’s wrong could impact someone somehow.

I’m in the field of financial advice - so although it’s not affecting someone’s health, I could cause detriment if I make the wrong decision etc in relation to benefits/pensions/inheritance for example.

A manager for example, could cause a detriment to a team member or client by overlooking something.

If you are wanting to retrain, maybe look at your strengths and weaknesses and with that you will have an indication of a career path you might be good at and succeed in. Locally to me, they are screaming out for teachers, maybe that’s the same for you? Have you thought about care work? You are still helping people but without as much responsibility as now, granted not as good a salary.

Hope some of that made sense x
