Washing hands on the train?

Really stupid problem but what am I doing wrong? Hold hands under soap dispenser and out comes soap. Move hands over to the water and not a drop comes out until I smack my hand against the tap ? Then it’s fine. This can’t be right? Is there some sort of technique for getting water out of taps on LNER trains?

Hand detectors for those things are just horribly unreliable. I stopped at a services on the M1 yesterday, same problem as you. Out for dinner Saturday, driers wouldn't detect me for more than a couple of seconds. One of the work bathrooms has just gone over to auto taps, they don't believe in me either.

Occasionally I wonder if after the AI revolution I'll be the only human left because they can't see me... Glad to know I'll have you as company!

Oh, wait.... "SmallDalek"? That's a concern.

😀 Bit worrying that we are apparently undetectable to these things. They only have 2 tasks to perform - detect hands and release water. If one of these is problematic that’s not good. But likewise it’s reassuring I’m not the only one having to beat the crap out of these things. Also seem to have a problem with dryers a lot of the time too 🤔

Could be worse. Automatic doors never seem to detect me and I'm not tiny. But I do smack my face into doors a LOT! I should really expect it by now. Sigh.

Doors are worse than taps I think. But neither are great.
