Got divorced, what do I do with the Spode? (crockery)

We chose the Spode together to go on a dresser when we were newly-weds. Decades on now & we're divorced. He didn't want I & neither do I, but I'm the one left with it. If you imagine a country dresser, filled, that's about what I've got. 12 plates, 12 spice pots, mini jugs, candle holders etc etc. It's not the very old valuable Spode, but Spode that was produced in 1990. But it still mounts up if you were to ebay it in bits. Trouble is, I can't be arsed packing/weighing/posting each bit individually & I don't think any single buyer would want the lot. Yet I also feel bad just dumping it in a charity because I could do with the cash. Wwyd?

Advertise it local to you. Pick up only. Put a notice up in a newsagents, old school! If you're close to me I'll have it!

My dh suggested throwing it at him - but I'm hoping all was amicable.

Set up a crockery smashing stall.

What about an auction house? Or Chinasearch or one of the other replacement China companies- that might buy it as a job lot

Heuschrecke · 11/11/2018 17:46

Have a look on Chinasearch www.chinasearch.co.uk (oops, just seen that gassy suggested that!)

FadedRed · 11/11/2018 17:50

Local auction, you might get a few quid for it, and only a single trip needed.

Heuschrecke · 11/11/2018 17:52

Chinasearch - Spode www.chinasearch.co.uk/buy/spode/, they'll take the whole lot off your hands - obviously paying you!!

Local Facebook selling pages are your friend. I sold two large items last week and each was one hour from advertising to being collected and cash in my hand. Ok, they are not always that easy! But totally free and no posting and definitely no packing involved.
