What age did your children learn to tie their shoelaces?

Ds is 7 (just) and I think today is the day, but is he a little late? 20 mins we've been going so far and slowly he's getting there, but curiosity has the better of me, when did your children learn? I think I learned about the age of 5... maybe

DS is 10 and has recently learnt to tie a bow so am hoping he will be able to do laces now. His feet are 7 or 8 so we can’t get Velcro shoes now.
