If you work FT and have children under 3 - what does your weekend look like?

Up with DS (2) this morning, I’m also pregnant with DC2 (1st trimester). We’ve wasted our whole morning watching telly, reading stories and trashing the living room Blush. I’m on a bit of a count down to nap time when I can go back to bed, just exhausted.

Any tips for being a bit more active? I know it would be much more productive and better for DS if we got up, dressed and perhaps went out for a walk or to the park but I’m struggling. What does your morning look like?

Be kind to yourself, what’s wrong with your Saturday morning? Especially if you work FT. Isn’t it nice to just chill out together.

Don’t feel guilty.

I guess so. I feel guilty he’s been with the Childminder all week, and now I’m too tired to ‘do’ anything!

Enjoy it whilst you can before they get older and DC2 arrives. I have 3 children, 6, 4 and 2 and work full time and if I could get away with doing that I definitely would!

Actually, to be fair, other than walking to the butchers and bakers with ds3 we’ve not done something too dissimilar this morning.

Sounds lovely.

I really should stop watching my very busy neighbours!

He will just be pleased to spend the time with you, honest!

I work full time and am a single parent to a 2 year old. So I have to spend time at the weekends doing shopping, cooking, cleaning etc. My dc spends more time than I would like at the weekends playing alone or watching cartoons while I race around trying to sort chores etc, and I feel really guilty, but it is what it is. In the end I think dc's just happy I'm around- and I plan an activity every day, even if it's just going to the local playground.

Don't worry!! You are doing just fine by the sounds of it.
