Opinions?
I want to see it but no one to go with... Will DD13 get anything out of it all?

Yes, it's a 12A. I was surprised how completely it glossed over FM's lifestyle - there are party scenes and there's coke on a table but mostly it shows morning after bleary-eyed walking up on a sofa. There is only kissing and shirt-off cuddling as far as sex goes. It's a great movie.

The music is great. Not sure whether she will love it but my sister did and she is not a Queen fan.

My 13yo dd loved it.

But it's ok to go on your own too if that's the only option!Smile

I've never been to cinema on my own lol
Maybe I should! There's an 1130 showing and to be honest DD13 will probably be still in bed 😂😂
Thanks for the comments 😁

It is suitable for a 13 year old but if they are not interested go by yourself.
Once you've done it you'll happily do it again. Going to the pictures by yourself is a treat.
Bohemian Rhapsody is excellent. Enjoy.

I'd go on your own rather than drag someone who might not be interested. Going to the cinema by yourself is the best thing ever. I don't get to do it so much at the moment but I love it.

Ds is 14 and he and his best friend went a few weeks ago. Ds does have great taste in music though.

I took my 12 year old. There's quite a bit of swearing (shit and bollocks mostly, one fucking) a brief flash of someone in a gimp mask with a dog lead around their neck and lots of vaguely suggested hedonism but nothing spelled out. It very much glosses over most of it. Weirdly, hardest to explain was why a singer in those days found it so hard to be open about being gay.

Largepiecesofcrookedwood · 10/11/2018 11:52

Agree petulia, DS(14) is baffled at the secrecy around homosexuality. At 14 he got some references but others clearly sailed over his head.
We went as a family with DH who is a massive Queen fan, DS loves music and knows Queen, I like them but wouldn't count myself as a fan in the DH sense of the word. I loved it and even planned to go back and see it again on my days off- thwarted by both DH and DS being off sick
Solitary cinema going is great Smile
