Where to buy smart workwear for short size 16 apple?

So I haven't bought new clothes for years. I am a size 16 apple shape with enormous boobs and no waist to speak of. I also had a c-section three years ago so have a delightful apron of flab across my middle.

Hate my body so still wearing maternity dresses at work Blush

I'm 5ft 3.

Any help appreciated!

I’m a 5ft 4, size 18/20 apple shape. I wear M and S work trousers - the short length is 27 inches so perfect. I add a simple short sleeved top and again M and S Classic cardigans (in the Classic section which is aimed at ‘older’ ladies but the cardigans are lovely and perfect for work, I have a black, Navy, Grey and red ones - £16 a pop.

I’m a similar size/height/shape OP and I agree with maddie re M&S trousers and cardigans. I also have a load of dresses from Fat Face which manage to both fit massive boobs and cover flabby tummies Smile

Thank you. With trousers and a top I struggle since I have no waist. My middle looks like flabby paving slab. What types of tops do you wear?

I also agree about M&S trousers and cardis. I'm 5ft1, 16-18 bottoms and 18-20 top. I usually find tops that are long so they go over the top of the trousers with stitching below the bust so it doesn't look baggy. Haven't bought work clothes in a while though (uniform) so don't know where to buy tops from at the moment.

Same as fig re tops - I go with long enough to cover the top of the trousers (crotch length-ish) and loose from under the bust down. Cross over style works quite well too. But I also like a tunic type top which has a tie at the back so I can draw attention to what bit of waist I have!

Dorothy Perkins and Next are where I get mine, mainly dresses (tights from Snag Tights).

TrickOrRuddyTreat · 10/11/2018 12:02

I’ve never heard of Snag Tights Stompy are they any good for short arses? I’m sick of Nora Batty ankles!

TeachesOfPeaches · 10/11/2018 12:14

Thank you. I always used to get skater style dresses from Dorothy Perkins but think they're a bit old hat now as can't find them anywhere. I would normally wear a shirt with trousers but they look hideous on me post baby.

I fine Snag Tights really good, they have a size chart based on a combination of your height and dress size. I find them really comfy.

I tend to go for wrap style dresses rather than skater dresses, I find them easy to wear but look professional.

Thanks stompy - off to have a look Smile

OP - def have a look at Fat Face, they’ve got some lovely wrap (and mock wrap) dresses which would probably really suit you and would make a nice alternative to the skater style

I am same height, similar shape/size. I have several of the fatface Simone style dress. On me they are just on the knee, in winter they are great with tights/boots. Several new prints each seaon so I have summer and winter prints, and a couple of more 'unsual' prints for out of work - though one day a colleague and I both turned up in the same giraffe print
