DS is only 4 and couldn't get to the toilet in time while at school..result stinky shoes! I tried wiping with disinfectant and drying on the radiator but if anything they smell worse! He obv didn't just trickle but flooded them!! I've googled putting leather shoes in the washing machine and it's a def No. So what should I do? I need to wash and dry before Mon. We can't afford another pair..these were £43!! Gutted!! Thanks for any help out there x

Thanks again ladies..most helpful. Grin Someone who hasn't smelt them when they were wee soaked (!) smelt them yesterday after I'd tried newspaper and odour water powder over night, and she said she could only smell a chemical bleach smell..So it seems that my efforts have worked without machine washing. Personally I can still smell wee but I do have a very sensitive nose! I'm hoping the remnants will fade..and like some ladies here said, he'll most likely need new shoes by Xmas anyway. I'll certainly not be paying another £40 for more the sane size anyway! And I won't go complaining to the school that they couldnt get him to the loo on time! Shock

OP, the smell may get stronger later in the day because of sweaty feet. If it does happen then put them in the washing machine but hopefully you won't need to do it.
