Efteling / Durinell

We're thinking of taking 8 yo DTs to Efteling / Durinell at easter, has anyone been recently?

Is three / four nights at Efteling too long - would we be better staying at Durinell and doing a trip out to Efteling?

Is 8 too old?

Any advice?

Thanks!

personally, I would stay a week at Duirnell. * is in no way at all too old for Duirnell. There's masses to do! Wouldn't bother with a day trip out to efteling. You'd basically be paying for a day out at a theme park when you're already living in one for a week!

8 is not too old for Efteling but 4 nights there would be too long - prob 2 max. However travel time in the Netherlands is so short - everything is 1 hour max.

My dc are 8-14 years and they all love the Efteling. Definitely not too old. Two days enough I would think. I love it there but after a couple of days I can’t listen to that piped music anymore Smile

We've been to Duinrell twice. 8 not too old - ours were 10, 7 and 4 last time. It's a great place to stay. If you book early, and direct with them, you also get 3 hours entry to the Tiki Bad (indoor water park) every day. If you can afford it, the deluxe Duingalows are great.
Wassenaar is a lovely town too.

We've been to Duinrell twice, summer gone was our latest time. My kids were between 13 and 7. They love it, want to go back, although we did get fab weather last time. My eldest two were 13 and 10 - I let them get bikes and they pottered about on their own a bit, they went to the amusement park, swimming etc themselves. We fly there, it was the car journey that always put me off a holiday like that. We have really enjoyed it both times.

Fab, thanks all!

We have to drive as ddog will be coming but we usually go to the south of France so this will be fine

I think we just go straight for Duinrell.

good choice! you'll love it. don't forget to check out the timetable for all the free shows etc.
they also have kids activities which are something like fairy tales etc. You meet up in a boring looking room then parents clear off for 2 hours! It looks really unpromising but the staff are fantastic and take all the kids on treasure hunts round the park etc. Really good fun for them
