Are there any charities that provide safes?

Mental Health nurse told me to get a safe for partners medication.

I was given 2 lockable wooden boxes but input the meds in and DP told me she would just run with the boxes and smash them if needed :(
There's no safes on local buy/sell cheap and I have no spare money.

In was wondering if any mental health charities help provide safes for people with suicidal tendencies?

I can't think of any. When my mum was unwell they ended up doing her medication daily, she had to pick it up from her surgery every day..

You could try one of the Carers charities. When i worked for one, they would provide grants for something like that.

She won't go and collect them every day. She gets a weekly script.

I'm not officially a carer so don't think I would be eligible?

They seem to be around £25 online.
Do you have anything lying around you could sell?
There are sites taking PayPal. You could join a paid survey site and earn some PayPal funds towards it fairly quickly.

You can get mini travel safes that might be a bit cheaper. You can hook them to a fixed object.

I need it to be big/heavy enough for her to not be able to take it out if the house when she dies a runner.

I've always got stuff on the selling pages but nothing much sells

Do you have any friends or family around who can store the bulk of her medication at their house and you pick up every couple of days? If mental health funding wasn’t in such a mess, it’s likely her nurse would recommend a stay in hospital until the current crisis has stabalised, I’m so sorry you and your partner are having to go through this.

Firstly, could you screw the lock boxes to the wall/ floor/ kitchen cupboard? Most cheap safes can be picked up and smashed.

Secondly, there's no such thing as an 'official' carer. You ARE a carer. So yes, you can ask carer charities.
