Just listening to the radio and they have a competition on to win cash.

I've entered lots of things in my life but the only thing I recall winning is a cake. It was at DS' school MacMillan Coffee morning this year. Lovely buttercream sponge cake. Yum!

A luxury trip to Florida - we stayed in a 5 star hotel, went out on an ocean going yacht, and went to some very exclusive restaurants.

When I was 5 I won the guess the number of sweets in a jar competition and won a doll which I still have, much the worse for its 61 years!

gladiatorgirl · 07/11/2018 13:10

A canvas shopping bag. I could hardly contain my excitement !!!

I was part of a syndicate where I used to work who won £250k on the National Lottery Thunderball in 2004, we got £15k each, I've also won £8500 on online bingo in 2010 plus lots of odd wins of £1000-£2000 since. I'd never really thought of myself as being lucky but whenever I have won it's been at times when the money really came in handy, the Thunderball win was when I was pregnant with DS, I was able to buy everything for his arrival without having to worry if I could afford it.

Tickets to a West End Show when I was at uni. We thought they’d be the cheap seats but when we arrived they weren’t. We were typically skint students and so chuffed!

A weekend break in a posh castle in the South of the UK... it included flights from France which is where I live and a hire car.

I also won a cake which was delivered on a day of my choice by a posh local patisserie..... apparently you can arrange for cake delivery like Interflora but with cake instead of flowers....

A four foot high plush Christmas elf!

RedneckStumpy · 07/11/2018 13:34

A tray of assorted canned meats, or £10 on the lottery.

citychick · 07/11/2018 13:41

Twice DH has won £2000 from the national lottery.
I once won a dvd player and this year I won a £50 restaurant voucher.

DH clearly has better luck than I do.
Smile

A PS1 back in the day.
A Blu-ray player when they were the 'new' thing.
Cinema tickets.

DD seems to be a bit of a lucky soul - she entered two competitions this summer, both in toy shops, and won both of them! Prize one was a huge unicorn themed goody bag and prize two was 20 Lost Kitties, (she shared them with her pals).

A bottle of Dom Perignon after going to a conference for work and being drawn at random by the hosts. I actually bate champagne and thought "I'll keep it by and regift it". Well a few months later our city experienced really bad flooding and my organisation asked for donations for a raffle to fundraise for the flood victims. So I donated the bottle - the organiser was very "meh" considering it was about £130 worth of champagne! A week later they drew the raffle and I noticed the bottle wasn't on the prize list! When I went to ask for it back, she had no recollection of taking it and it had mysteriously disappeared 😡

GunpowderGelatine · 07/11/2018 13:49

*hate not bate

Laska3Meryl · 07/11/2018 19:03

oh, and I won 'money saving environmental ideas' competition at work, The prize was £1000 which was advertised as going to the 'winning team', but as no one in our team , wanted to sign up to the idea I submitted, I got the lot in my pay packet!. I used it to buy some huge water storage tanks for the garden.. (in case of drought,) but apart from last year we've had really rainy summers ever since and havent needed the amount of stored water we have ! Grin

Puzzledandpissedoff · 07/11/2018 20:09

A cruise on Holland America's Ryndam in return for writing a daily blog about the experience

They probably wished someone else had won it, because I told the truth that it was absolutely appalling Hmm

HippoLatte · 07/11/2018 20:13

£4k on online bingo in the run up to xmas last year.

KeepServingTheDrinks · 07/11/2018 20:54

Followtheyellowsicktoad WWWWHHHHAAATTTT?????????

Surely you have to explain that one???

I got 4 numbers on the national lottery really soon after it started (when EVERYONE was playing it). Won about £200, which was very handy as was just about to move in with (now) DH and it went towards a new-to-us cooker and a sofa.

And an ex BF won a holiday to New Zealand and he took me. That was good!
