DH and I will be in Bath the end of November for one night. Staying just outside of bath, but looking to spend the day/evening in the centre.

Any recommendations for lively pubs for lunch/dinner? Or restaurants.

Any tips for what to do during the day also good :-)

Lunch or afternoon tea in the Pump Rooms is lovely, but expensive. Lots of wonderful cafes/restaurants in Bath, depends on what you fancy. The Visit Bath website is a great place to start.

The Fashion museum is great to visit, as is the Holburne Museum. A wander around the Royal Crescent is a must. The Roman Baths are fascinating.

I think the Christmas market will be on at the end of November, all the stalls are lovely and again, lots of places to eat.

Have a wonderful time.

Forgot to say, Tagine Zhor is a Moroccan restaurant in North Parade that is really great.

There's plenty to do in Bath, and you've not really got very much time!

There are all the usual chain kind of restaurants all located centrally.

The Thermae Spa is quite good, and very well-priced for what it is - the twilight package is quite a nice one to do at this time of the year.

The Xmas market will be on, so expect it to be busy, but apparently they've spread the layout this year to make it less congested.

Sights to see: The Roman Baths; Holburne Museum; Royal Crescent and Circus (the museum at No 1 Crescent is good). Just wandering around is lovely.

Shopping's quite good - a mix of independents and High St.

The Bath Ales pubs are generally quite nice - The Griffin and The Salamander are both centrally located, or Graze near the train station (restaurant rather than pub). There's a gin bar that's quite popular (Canary Gin - it's near the Salamander), or cocktails at Circo.

Bath is pretty lively on a Saturday night, often lots of hen dos, so just follow the crowds! Have a lovely time.

Wonderful, thanks everyone.

We've been before. Songave seen a few sights. We're not too far away, but it's a day/evening without DC :-)

Love the idea of the twilight package at therme. Don't think you can pre-book, so might just have to keep fingers crossed there's room.

Moroccan restaurant could be very good. Haven't had Morrocan in ages.

Hit some of those pubs/gin places along the way and the Christmas market.

Sounds perfect

Thank you!!!

It's a really walkable city. Head up to the Royal Crescent, work your way back along Brock Street (nice indy shops to your left) through the Circus to the Assembly Rooms and then head down past some more nice indy shops to Milsom Street. Find your way from the bottom of Milsom Street to Pulteney Bridge (obligatory photo of weir...).

Bath is stuffed with good places to eat. Avoid The Ivy. The Firehouse Rotisserie off Milsom Street is always good value, and is next to the Salamander pub. There's a French bistro (Chez Dominique) next to Pulteney Bridge which I've heard good reports of. I second Graze and Tagine Zhor although it's really easy to over-order there! Framptons is also a safe bet, near Pulteney Bridge.

For a slightly out of centre (very slightly) place, Widcombe is easy to get to (5 min walk from station), has some nice shops and the White Hart is a good pub with great food but you might want to book, especially if Bath are playing at home (rugby).

Enjoy, Bath's a fabulous place.
