Advice on gaining weight

I'm looking for some advice on the best way to gain weight.
I'm 5'11" and currently 51kg, my weight tends to fluctuate between 51kg-55kg but I can never stay at 55 or get over that. That still leaves me 5kg out of the normal range and I would really like to get to a healthy weight!
I eat consistently and the majority of the time I eat over 2000 calories, normally 60-70% of them coming from carbs.
If anyone has any tips of gaining weight they would be much appreciated, thank you!

How often have you been to the GP over the past 6 years?

I'm sure you can buy high calorie drinks from boots? Look into it.

I've always just trusted my doctor would look into it if they were concerned, now I'm really worried that they're just crap and there's something wrong with me Sad

Sorry you’re worried now, but at your current weight you need someone to investigate.

How often have you been to the GP in the last 6 years? Have they ever weighed you?

PeachJelly · 07/11/2018 10:52

I'm not sure how often I've been tbh, not regularly, I've never tried making a specific appointment about my weight though.
I have been weighed by them before but not since about 17, I had glandular fever at 16 and lost a lot of weight, so was weighed for awhile to make sure I put it back on which I did do

Is there anything I can say to the doctors to get them to give me an appointment? I'm worried now Sad

Would it be worth switching practices?

Tell them you’ve lost 5kg of weight unintentionally and your bmi is now 15.6.

Add in some protein shakes throughout the day? They pack a calorie punch.

Make sure you use full fat butter/cream/yoghurt/ milk etc

Up it to 2,500 a day

And yes, if you're not putting on weight with that level of calorie intake then there could well be something wrong... insist on an emergency appointment or at least one this month (what GP doesn't have an appointment available for 2 months?!?)
