Little wooden chairs for toddlers

At nursery they have these brilliant very low (and stable) little wooden chairs for the babies and toddlers. Does anyone know where you can get them if you're not ordering wholesale (and maybe what they are called)?

Have a look at ikea.

balalalala · 07/11/2018 07:14

I think I know which ones you mean. Try searching Montessori chair on ebay/etsy

Stuckforthefourthtime · 07/11/2018 07:14

Gonzagarredi ones - multiple heights and a stool! Ours are like this www.a2zmontessori.com.au/shopn/spiMONTA_1_FUR_14465

You can search for Montessori chairs to find more (and local)

Thank you!

Look online at IKEA before you brave a trip as from recollection they only sell small plastic toddler chairs rather than small wooden ones. I might be wrong though.

spiderlight · 07/11/2018 17:01

We had some brilliant sturdy wooden chairs from Ikea but it was a few years ago now.

Several options here - I think ours were the ones that came with the table but the Mammut ones look good.

spiderlight · 07/11/2018 17:02

(Ignore me - just realised the Mammut ones are plastic, not painted wood)

MouseRatFan · 07/11/2018 17:03

They are probably community playthings brand. They are very pricy but last forever.

SomethingNastyInTheBallPool · 07/11/2018 17:06

Yes, Community Playthings are the ones schools and nurseries tend to use. They’re wildly expensive. We were lucky enough to be given one.

SuperstarDJ · 07/11/2018 17:07

Yeah, the mammut are the ones I have and they are made from quite flimsy plastic. Kritter & Sunvik appear to me made of wood though.

Justanewname · 07/11/2018 17:12

We have a couple of obique ones that can be either a little chair or table. Might be cheaper than community playthings. Ours were second hand so not sure the price new.

Xiaoxiong · 08/11/2018 08:41

We have the Sundvik kids table and chairs which we have painted - daily use for almost 6 years now, pretty good value I think!

Xiaoxiong · 08/11/2018 08:41

Sorry, Sundvik from Ikea

randomsabreuse · 08/11/2018 08:43

I got a cheap table and 2 chairs set from Ikea which is mostly wood and is quite nice.

Lettherebelight · 10/11/2018 09:07

Yes, they do look the community playthings ones but ouch! at the price. The ikea table and chairs are cute but a bit higher than the ones I had in mind. With the low ones she would be able to sit and draw at our existing coffee table which would save space.

Ikea do lovely little wooden white painted ones and tables to match. I think it was £15 for a chair. They look very expensive. The table looks nice but is showing signs of wear quickly. Chairs still look immaculate.

SusanZ · 10/04/2019 13:17

Just like somebody else posted here, we have the obique ones too. I have the set of 2 pieces and both can be used as chairs or coffee tables. Made from real wood so you get quality and you save on not having to buy coffee tables too. I think they come in 3 colours: white, dark and natural (we went for the natural look). These are the so called Montessori chairs ;)
