We don't have a t.v. license. We follow all the rules don't listen to or watch bbc or any other live tv no aerial plugged in etc. Haven't for years.
We do have Netflix now tv and prime and obv YouTube.
I am starting to feel a bit nostalgic for a bit of BBC but is it worth 10/11 quid a month. I used to quite like BBC 4 and things like bake off call the midwife etc. I have a young dc who would probably like cbeebies cbbc etc.

My question is if we get it what is worth watching?

Yup

No it isn't.

And you can listen to the BBC without a licence, you can also watch call the midwife on Netflix and bake off on channel 4 catch up.

In fact netflix has a whole bunch of BBC content which is generally updated about 12 months after the BBC air it.

There is normally a way to legally watch most BBC programmes without having a TV license. The BBC's version of The Great British Bake Off seems to all be on Netflix anyway.

Bbc an absolute bargain compared with Netflix and Prime, look at the range of productions.

look at the range of productions

What do you mean The BBC has stuff by the BBC...
Netflix has stuff by the BBC, By the Australian broadcasting company, by PBS, stuff owned by DreamWorks, stuff they make themselves, stuff owned by Warner brothers and productions from all over the world....

longwayoff · 20/01/2020 08:46

I mean, look at what is provided by the bbc overall, not just tv shows but a vast range of world renowned tv and radio covering diverse topics. It's a bargain. If it wasn't there, we'd miss it.

CaptainKirksSpikeyGhost · 20/01/2020 08:47

I wouldn't miss it, I really wouldn't.

But being a multi-billion pound corporation they will be around for a long time yet.

longwayoff · 20/01/2020 09:02

That's not what the BBC is. Never mind.

CaptainKirksSpikeyGhost · 20/01/2020 09:12

What is the BBC then?
Or do you want people to only pay attention to the tiny non commercial 4 channel based bit, rather than the big money making corperation that owns 100's of commercial channels around the world and the UKTV network in the UK?
