Did you change your mind on 2nd viewing?

I've just viewed a house and, I just don't know how to say this without getting shot down in flames for being 'woo' ... it didn't feel right. Not scary. Just, uneasy. Unwelcoming. I almost can't put my finger on it. It's not old, which is what I would usually chalk this feeling up to or liken it to. There's a few reasons that could be Influencing it, it's vacant and of course it's dark outside.

It didn't feel like home.

My wife really liked it and wants to return for a 2nd viewing in daylight. Sensible perhaps but we don't have time to waste, sellers too.

So... if your first viewing was similar, Did you view again and feel differently, or even go onto buy and settle well?

Haven't had that experience, but I recall when selling my own house some years ago a couple came and the man eyed me with nothing short of contempt, and he looked at me with such suspicion when I said anything about the house. It was quite shocking to me. His wife seemed quite positive, though.
EA feedback was that the husband said it didn't feel like home, but I think it was also me he disliked, though I was totally pleasant!
It was a great house, in s good area and sold quickly anyway.

I walked into my present home and got no further than the hall when I knew I had to buy it. After the EA showed me around, we got back to the car and I told him my offer. He called the then owner who said no. I didn't care, I had to buy it so paid asking price. Fortunately felt the same on my second visit and no regrets for the past fifteen years. Go with your gut instincts.

Bugger. Silvery.

I've never lived in a house I didn't feel that way on first viewing about..thought perhaps I was being silly.

I'll cancel the second visit and move on.

We did. Loved the house in first viewing. Put an offer in and it was accepted. Paper work started underway, had second viewing, but then realised the house was just too small. So we pulled out.

I've sensed a bad atmosphere in 2 or 3 houses before now and couldn't wait to get out of them, never mind going back into them.

Where I live now I had practically decided on when I walked into the hallway. It has always had a warm, friendly feeling and I've been very happy here.

I have also viewed properties for a second time and decided against buying them for whatever reason. That's what 2nd viewings are for, to pick on details missed first time round.

I have also not bought if I sensed the vendor was unsure, defensive, difficult to communicate with or generally not pleasant. So I have usually bought empty properties, it saves chains breaking and dealing with difficult personalities.

I've moved a lot.

I viewed a house that I hated the atmosphere of. No way would I have gone back for a second viewing, I couldn't wait to leave. I felt it the second I stepped in the door, the owner was ill too and we had to use hand gel, which I didn't know as soon as I walked in but I swear that it was linked to how I felt.

A couple I liked but on second viewing realised they weren't suitable. Loved the house I'm in now straight away. Offered an hour after first viewing, DH hadn't even seen it.
