I had my Dd over a year ago, before pregnancy I was quite small, during pregnancy I had a huge bump but everywhere else stayed the same size as before, after pregnancy I've put on a lot of weight!! I've been greedy with chocolate and unhealthy junk food that I don't need!!
I'm a vegetarian and I don't have a good diet, I'm looking for some lunch/meal ideas!!
I need to cut out any junk and also cheese because I have way to much of that!! Off to weigh my self this afternoon and I'm dreading it!! Tried to put my jeans on today and they don't even go over my thighs!! X

I'm mostly vegetarian (have fish 2 or 3 times a week). Some of my favourite meals are -
Omelette, salad, new potatoes
Dal, roasted spicy broccoli, with rice or pitta bread
Lentil or chickpea and vegetable stew
Vegetarian chilli and rice
Lentil bolognaise
Small jacket potato with cottage cheese and salad or homemade coleslaw
Cheese is a good source of protein and calcium so I wouldn't cut it out. Just weigh it (30gs is around 120 cals depending on the type of cheese)

Thankyou for your reply!! The spicy broccoli sounds really nice!! How do you do it? Xx

Cut it up into florets, toss in a little bit of vegetable oil and sprinkle with garam masala. Roast in a medium oven for about 20 minutes. This works with cauliflower as well (probably with other veg too).

I’m vegan so no cheese! My nice meals:
Microwaved sweet potato with natural yoghurt, pomegranate and a few walnuts.
Veg stir fry with smoked tofu and noodles.
Lentil ‘spaghetti bol’ recipe on mumsnet
Butternut squash risotto and chickpeas.
Smoked tofu and salad wraps
Bean chilli and rice
Homemade soup with lentils

Baked carrot, parsnip and sweet potato chips are my healthy alternative to regular potato chips. Take the raw veg, cut them into chips, toss them in a little olive oil, sprinkle with herbs or chilli flakes and then roast them for 20-25 minutes depending on their thickness.

Brown rice with tofu, lentils and bell pepper, with a sauce of your choice. Mine is jerk sauce but sweet or smoky flavours pair well too.

A pitta stuffed with a chopped up vegetarian sausage or 2, salad and a dressing made up of plain yogurt and dijon mustard.

If you needs snacks too, my favourites are:

Plain yogurt topped with raspberries (or a fruit you like) and flaked almonds.

An apple cut into slices and 2 teapsoons of nut butter, like cashew or almond, to dip them in.

Also, dark chocolate better for you than milk. I buy a £2 bar of green and blacks a week. I tell myself I can have chocolate every day if I stick to having 2 squares a day (which is about 25% of your daily fat allowance!). If I get greedy and it runs out because I've eaten more than that then I'm not allowed to go and top it up with a new bar. I have to wait until the week is up! It's a good way to build up your willpower as you have a goal and you get chocolate no matter what Grin

cut chocolate into small pieces and put in the freezer. one frozen piece can last a long time in your mouth.
