How to defrost integrated freezer??

New kitchen fitted a while ago, and the freezer is now needing defrosted. But....no instructions as to how to do it.
Theres no drainage channel to catch the water when the ice melts. And it's integrated, so I can't pull it out to make things easier or to mop up any water on the floor. Genuinely confused. Any tips welcome!

We usually run down the fridge and freezer and then turn it off (and put bowls in it to catch the ice/water. It's a big all day job so usually save it for the weekend/day off.) Of course I may be doing it wrong but it's what I've always done!

Doesn't need to take long at all. Turn it off at the wall and got at it with a hairdryer and some wooden spoons. Bash all the ice out (catching it in plenty of bowls and towels) and you'll be done in no time.

First of all put the kettle on.

Once it has boiled, switch off the freezer, take out all the storage drawers and stack them wrapped in towels on your worktop.

Put containers full of boiling water inside your freezer and shut the door. Unwrap drawer 1, sort through the food, bin what is unusable and put rest of food in drawer 2. Wash out drawer 1 and dry thoroughly. Replace food, rewrap in towel.

Put kettle on to boil again, open freezer door, remove containers. There should be lots of melted water and chunks of ice in the bottom. Scoop out what you can with a plastic jug and then use a clean dish cloth to mop up and then wring out.

Put containers full of boiling water back in freezer and shut the door. Repeat above process with remaining freezer drawers.
Repeat process with freezer.

I have an under the counter freezer with three drawers and this takes about half an hour. Give the freezer a final wipe out, put drawers back in, switch back on, turn to super settings and don't open the door for a couple of hours.

Do the bowls catch most of the water? With my last freezer, a lot of the water seemed to trickle down the sides as opposed to dripping, therefore wouldn't be "catchable" x

Sorry x-posted with a couple of messages. LOVING the efficiency method of wrapping drawers etc. I usually put the food in cool boxes while washing the drawers but it's always such a faff. So I will definitely be doing this with the food this time.
So really it's just about soaking up and wringing out the meltwater, I guess.
Yup the hairdryer is always a good help. I just couldn't work out what to do to catch the water as the ice melts

The bottom drawer of the freezer catches almost all the water in mine. It came with a little spatula type thing to drain the rest into a tray. It wasn't much though, it was easier to sit the drawer on a thin towel.

I put my frozen stuff in the fridge.

It is a nightmare to do ours - time consuming (even using hot water) and floody. I just use loads of newspaper and towels and mop up frequently to prevent damage. Stupid design.

My drawers are all wire so thin towel I wish!
