Dead people in my contacts list

But of a morbid one maybe, sorry!
In my phone there are contact details for three family members who are no longer with us. One of them has been gone more than 10 years. From time to time I go through my contacts and delete any I don't expect to use again but can't bring myself to delete those three. Is that weird? Does anyone else keep the details of the deceased?

I still have the contact details for my uncle who died 11 years ago. No doubt the number has been reassigned by now, but I can't bring myself to delete it.

Some really touching stories here. It's good to know I'm not alone in this.

I have a text on my old phone from a friend who died about 7-8 years ago. She was looking after ds aged under a year. It says "He likes quavers. Oops. Hee hee" and I'll never delete that one. It makes me smile and think of her.

I still have my mum and my sister's numbers and texts in my phone. Can't bring myself to delete them and don't think I ever will

@BinkyandBunty anybody out there! I remember reading it and being totally floored when I realised he was dead!

My Mum had an answer machine and my Grandad called regularly and left various messages. When he died she couldn't bring herself to wipe the current ones she had, took the cassette out and started with a new one. She gave it to me as she didn't know what to do with it. I have no way of listening to it and it might fail for all I know (its over 10 years old now) but I can never get rid of it either. I understand how you feel.

I don't delete either. It feels so... final. Which is stupid!

for those who are struggling with losses.

CookPassBabtridge · 06/11/2018 16:52

No I don't delete them 💜

BishBoshBashBop · 06/11/2018 16:55

No not at all strange. I still have family members details from when I first had a phone many many years ago. I can't see me ever getting rid of them.

BiteyShark · 06/11/2018 16:55

I deleted mine. I am completely an atheist but I just didn't want it in my list incase it suddenly came up as 'x ringing'.

However, I think lots of people don't ever delete them.
