For me it’s education threads. Oh my god

OP posts:
Eminybob · 05/11/2018 10:31

The ones that ask how much is your mortgage payment or similar. Replying is such a waste of effort because the answer is irrelevant to the op, and no one actually reads or replies you your response.

SleepingInYourFlowerbed · 05/11/2018 10:34

The game ones. Like that favourite celeb stays on. Why is that fun? Can someone explain it to me?

Sparklingbrook · 05/11/2018 10:35

How much is your mortgage?
How much have you got in savings?
How much do you earn?
What is your house worth?
What is your credit Card Number?
What's your pin number?
What's your mother's maiden name?

And the ‘where have you been on holiday this year?’ posts which within a page have gone from a week in Bognor to a six month cruise to the Falkland Isles. The op will normally say something like ‘looking for inspiration as not been able to afford a holiday for a couple of years’. Which personally I’d take to mean that 3 weeks at a 5 star jungle lodge in Fiji probably isn’t quite the inspiration they were looking for.

PanGalaticGargleBlaster · 05/11/2018 10:36

Every single Brexit thread.

I swear people just cut and paste the same shite from a saved list

PortiaCastis · 05/11/2018 10:41

I always wonder about those threads asking for personal info and why folk answer them, but having said that I do wonder how many salaries/mortgages are highly fictitional

Eminybob · 05/11/2018 10:42

And P&C spaces vs BB spaces ones.

AlpacaPicnic · 05/11/2018 12:42

Not a mumsnet thread but once got fraught up reading a multipage argument about the difference between 'Egg Salad' and 'Egg Mayonnaise'
The biggest problem was lots of American posters refusing to believe that egg mayo was a thing and insisting that all the British posters were wrong.
It got very heated, very personal and quite nasty iirc!

LucyMorningStar · 05/11/2018 12:51

For me it's anything along the lines of 'AIBU or is my DH a dick?' type of threads. They are always the same.... Wet wipe poster stating how clearly idiotic her H is being and then asking AIBU to be pissed off. Cue everyone telling her to LTB while she's backpedalling saying that if he doesn't beat her to a pulp he must be OK after all. Alternatively, she starts going 'Oh but I couldn't possibly be my own person, I must be coupled up' blah blah blah.... Jeez just thinking about it send half of my brain to sleep!

Loyaultemelie · 05/11/2018 14:10

I came on to answer the op but bugger that I'm off to the soup thread (sorry op!)

DustyMaiden · 05/11/2018 14:21

Trans this Trans that,

GallicosCats · 05/11/2018 14:34

Any thread that starts out with an interesting discussion point and ends up with two posters slagging each other off.

I always want to send them out of the classroom so the rest of us can have a civilised debate.

KeepServingTheDrinks · 05/11/2018 16:21

The ones that start promising and fizzle out. Always so disappointing! (especially when the OP just vanishes)

WhyAmISoCold · 05/11/2018 16:30

Those Donald Trump threads. But I never actually read them.

I hate the ones where posters argue amount themselves. Totally ruins any thread and I have to then hide it.

I also think 1000 posts generally is far too many. Usually has either been resolved or they have got the message long ago bit posters still feel the need to get their 2 pence worth in. Too many posts which is generally just stuff repeating makes a thread very boring.

WhyAmISoCold · 05/11/2018 16:31

Amongst not amount

MorningsEleven · 05/11/2018 16:49

Threads that begin with "I'm not looking to start an argument" Yes, you are.

werideatdawn · 05/11/2018 16:56

Softzilla

Missedmoments · 05/11/2018 16:57

I absolutely hate the SAHM vs Working mum threads. Just one big bag of shite full of judgement and repressed anger. Avoid them like the plague.

dapplegrey · 05/11/2018 17:35

Every single Brexit thread.

I swear people just cut and paste the same shite from a saved list

I agree. They are like those repeat recordings of Christmas songs which play in shops at this time year.

MissionItsPossible · 05/11/2018 18:04

Brexit threads
"I found a shopping list" threads.
AIBU to have [food item] for dinner threads.
Threads where the OP is so vague and asks a random question about a friend or partner and I just think how the hell are we supposed to know, they're your friend/partner, just ask them!
Golliwog threads.
CF threads can be hit or miss.
Stealth boast threads like "My DH has got his annual 150K bonus from work and we can't decide whether to buy a third holiday home or not"

JuniorDetective · 05/11/2018 18:04

@Sparklingbrook thank you for saying that re: 'favourite' threads. Takes me a few minutes to realise I've literally read lists of film/book/tv/song titles for no good reason.

Fooferella · 05/11/2018 18:09

I'm having soup for dinner. Misses point of thread...

surferjet · 05/11/2018 18:11

Every single Brexit thread

I swear people just cut and paste the same shite from a saved list

Agree.

If you’ve been on one brexit thread you’ve been on them all.
The exact same people saying the exact same things over & over again.
🙄

Lovestonap · 05/11/2018 18:15

The Am I Pregnant ones do my head in. I think these posters are complete idiots. But somehow I always have to check back until it's resolved. Why?!? Random pregnant person I will never meet. Possibly not even real.
