£50 gift limit for me and OH

So after years of getting more and more rediculous re present buying, me and OH have decided we don’t need any more “stuff” (our house is a stuff factory, we have more gadgets than our local branch of curry’s).

There is a £50 limit on presents for each other. I have helpfully hinted at a wide barrel curling iron to replace my current one (which is tapered), it’s a babyliss one on sale for £21 (my current one is the same brand and has lasted me 7 years!)

But I am really struggling what to get him, other then the usual underpants and socks stocking fillers!!!

Last year I bought him a new (mulberry) wallet, so that’s out of the question, he doesn’t wear ties, not into sports apart from football, but is already a season ticket holder. I am really struggling, for Father’s Day we got him a bacon curing set! Terrible I know, but he is the man who has it all!!!

I have tried asking but he says it’s up to me 😡😡

Please, please, help me!

I've been getting presents online because everywhere's had discount codes recently! I got my OH a aftershave on offer so £50 instead of 80 and some gym wear

Last year we decided to buy each other a Red Letter experience we could enjoy together this year.

Was really lovely having two experiences to look forward to.

Are the red letter experiences easy to book? I have seen a few things over the years he may like, but scared you have limited usage on them and the experiences get book up fast.

The last few years I have treated us to a day/weekend in London also.

I normally get us somewhere naice, but dirt cheap (weekend after New Years when it’s freezing and all the usual tourists have gone home, stayed in a posh hotel in Kensington my friend paid £400 a night, but cost me £85)

We are in Yorkshire btw.

I wonder if Scotland would be closer to my budget? If anyone has recommendations?

I found the experiences we did very eAsy to book.

Why do presents then, if you're stuck for ideas? If he doesn't need anything, why spend money just to have something to unwrap?

Tickets for something? A show, comedian?

Annajohnsdottir · 06/11/2018 14:13

I'm with firefire on tickets to something fun, like a show, comedian or comedy night. Are there any decent tribute acts in your area that he might enjoy? Or are any of his favourite bands or acts touring in the next year?

Also, of all his gadgets and things at home, does he have a favourite that needs any tlc or improving? Could you surprise him by getting an old football shirt of his framed or anything like that?

OneStepMoreFun · 06/11/2018 14:30

How about tickets to see his favourite band from when he was a teen/student? Loads of old bands are doing the rounds in smaller venues for reasonably priced tickets.
Tickets to see a favourite comedian?
A bottle of brandy/whisky and brandy/whisky glasses

Theatre vouchers to see a show together?
