Hi I'm a band 3 physio/OT support worker in a large hospital. In the morning I work with the OT team and my afternoon is with PT.

I am usually given a list of patients to see, will get them up and doing walking practice or work on exercises, then report back to the physio on how they managed and if I identified any potential issues. I will also assist the physio with patients who need two people to help them mobilise. Lastly, and the least exciting thing, stocking up paperwork, walking aids and such.

I don't work Xmas or any other public hols but it really depends on the area you work in. Core hours are 830 to 430 but mine are slightly altered for childcare purposes.

Good luck with your application!

I’m a Band 2 Physio Assistant.

At the start of the day, the qualified Physio I work alongside identifies a list of patients for me to see, and I continue with the treatment plan she sets out. I report any issues back, and suggest changes to treatment plans etc.

I also help out with any patients who need more than one person for their treatment.

Most of what I do is just encouraging people to take little walks around the ward, but I also get to do some cool stuff, working with amputees and people with spinal cord injuries. I’ve even got to do some hydrotherapy.

I also do most of the admin support for our team, making sure records are up to date, collecting data, printing resources.

I work one weekend day every 6 weeks, and one bank holiday weekend day a year.

It’s possibly the best job I’ve ever had. I love chatting to my patients (mostly elderly people), and the benefits of physio are really easy to see, so it’s very rewarding. There’s no better feeling than seeing a patient come in very unwell and barely able to move, and helping them progress until they’re back to full independence.

It's a waiting game now, it says if I don't hear back within6 weeks then I have been unsuccessful. When yous both first started did you shadow a lot before being sent off to patients by yourself? Is band 2 about 17k? Thank you
