I've been up since about 5 as I've got pneumonia and have had a rough nights sleep. Wish I was fast asleep in bed still. Why is everyone else up so early?

OP posts:

I'm going to be a voice of positivity - I'm up early because my children finallly sleep (honestly they all do eventually hang on in there) which means Ive got my life back which means I've started exercising which means... I'm doing a half marathon today eek!!

Harrykanesrightsock · 04/11/2018 06:30

Flowers that everyone feeling under the weather. I’m just an early bird and rarely sleep past 6. My body can’t recognise a weekend and once awake I can’t gat back to sleep. It makes Sunday’s endless trying to stay awake past 7pm.

MrsBertBibby · 04/11/2018 06:30

Ooh good luck!

FiveGoMadInDorset · 04/11/2018 06:31

Internal alarm clock always goes off at 6

Yogagirl123 · 04/11/2018 06:31

I am up, always wake early and once awake can’t go back to sleep. I think spasm in my legs is usually is the cause of me waking up due to MS, yes I do take meds for it.

I hope you feel better soon OP, you must be feeling rough, try to rest during the day as much as you can.

Chottie · 04/11/2018 06:32

Just entering the third week of a cold. Every morning I wake up with blocked sinuses and nose and a headache.... It's just so annoying and tiring. I do not have the time to be ill...........

NotUmbongoUnchained · 04/11/2018 06:35

My kids tend to sleep till 8:30-9:00 so I like to get up a few hours before them and do some yoga and tidy and cook breakfast.

fassbender · 04/11/2018 06:36

I'm in the hospital at the moment and have been woken in and off in the night for observations and also just hearing the nurses chatting. Gonna be shattered today. Hope everyone who is feeling poorly starts feeling better soon

ChefsFloozie · 04/11/2018 06:37

DH was up at 6 to pop into work to finish the last of the food prep for DS christening later this morning. I can hear DS stirring, hope DD stays asleep a bit longer!

MsForestierinParis · 04/11/2018 06:40

Cleaning the kitchen since 5.30. sick kid so checking on him hence broken sleep.

Esker · 04/11/2018 06:42

My 7 month old begins every morning by doing a massive poo... that stinky nappy is my alarm clock as once it's dealt, he is so excited about being changed that it's all over for any chance of sleep. Only silver lining is that toddler is still sleeping ... for now 😬

timeforgin1 · 04/11/2018 06:42

For some strange reason I wake every morning at 4:45 and can't go back to sleep. I tried going to bed later last night to see if that would help. Guess who'll be tired later 😂

Esker · 04/11/2018 06:43

Get well soon OP! Thanks

DonkeyPunch88 · 04/11/2018 06:49

I'm in work at 7. Didn't finish until 10 last night after starting at 8am. Today is going to be a long day! So much harder trying to get up and motivated when it's so dark and cold, it's hammering down and my first client is a really nasty person so doesn't fill me with glee really

spinningworld · 04/11/2018 06:51

Sadly my cats don't agree with weekend lie ins. They demand breakfast at 5am whatever the day 🤷‍♀️

sashh · 04/11/2018 06:58

Early?

4.30 is early, 6 am is normal for me.

Snufflebabe05 · 04/11/2018 07:00

One week into the worst viral infection I’ve ever had. Was asleep before 9pm....meaning an early wake up. So fed up of being poorly.

kshaw · 04/11/2018 07:02

Me! My first weekend entirely on my own since baby was born 19 months ago and I woke st 6! Typical

CherryPavlova · 04/11/2018 07:02

In a hotel, so strange bed, different noises and cramp.

RockyisMYRhino · 04/11/2018 07:04

We stayed in a hotel last night for a friends party. DS decided he didn't want to be in the travel cot they provided for us at 4.15 this morning. Trying to keep a 14 month old quiet in one room so DH can sleep off a bit of his hangover (we came home much earlier than he did) is damn near impossible!!!!

Kewqueue · 04/11/2018 07:05

I've been up since 6 reading Frankenstein. Was going back to bed but it's gripping! Get well soon OP!

GrumpyOldMare · 04/11/2018 07:07

I've been up for an hour. Arthritis is playing up,I knew I shouldn't have done so much walking yesterday.

flumpybear · 04/11/2018 07:07

@loveliestbaker I feel for you! I've got (yet tombe Confirmed) whooping cough! Are tounmuch like me, coughing whilst you sleep and it's waking you all the time? The last month I've been waking up so early and more recently I've been up at 2-4am vomiting due to the violent nature of the coughing - last night is the first night in a long time that I've slept til about 6am without getting up to cough and vomit or at least shed the disgusting mess that's on my lungs 🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
I feel for you!

anniehm · 04/11/2018 07:10

Me, normal - my body a few months ago decided about 4 hours sleep is all I need. So annoying as I get tired in the pm but cannot stay asleep even with melatonin brought in from the US

mumto2babyboys · 04/11/2018 07:11

My children never sleep in, would love them to sleep to 8.30am

Get well soon all of those with colds!
