Is our room arrangement weird?

6yo twin dcs had a little friend over today with her mum

It came up in the conversation that dd1 and ds1 (the twins) share a room and 3yo ds2 and 2yo dd2 share the other one.

She seemed really shocked that we didn't have the girls in one room and the boys in the other.
I explained to her why but she was still pretty funny about it.

I'm pretty sure it's her being weird rather than us but I was wondering what the general consensus was on it?

Nothing wrong with your set up.

We had a 4 bed house but DD and DS shared a bedroom until DD was 9 and decided she wanted her own room (DS was sad for about an hour until he realised he'd have more space for his toys ).

Prior to that they both liked sharing and had insisted on sharing a bedroom despite us not having space restrictions.

So my experience is they will tell you pretty sharpish when they are ready to update the arrangements.

I was still sharing a room with my DB with I was 13 and he was 11, with our younger sister as well. There were no more bedrooms to move one of us into. We survived.
