Dining table booster seat

DC2 is 2 yrs old. Too big for the high chair but not great at sitting at a normal chair at the normal height dining table; keeps standing up / kneeling and just generally messing about with the associated risk of falling off onto the wooden floor below. Partly I think due to the fact that he’s not quite tall enough to manage.

He’d happily graze whilst walking around or playing if he had the choice, but in an attempt to encourage better social eating habits, I’m keen to keep him at the table, and have been thinking about a booster seat to strap him on to.

Can anyone recommend a good one? It is for home use only, not travel, and needs to be secure once fastened (he’s a wriggler)!

TIA Smile

Following as similar issue! DS usually eats at his toddler table but it would be nice to all sit at the dining table for a change

Get a tripp trapp or the cheaper ones that do the job just as well (I got one for around £30... German... Hauck, that's it!)

I’ve got a child size dining chair from ikea (second hand so even more of a bargain) - it was the best thing I didn’t know I needed for DS until I saw my nephew’s one. It’s the right height for the table and he’s less fidgety because there’s no room for him to be. He loves “his” chair and doesn’t like sitting on the normal ones now. He’s a bit older at 4 but it’s worth looking into.

“Junior chairs” they seem to be called now:

I have the Chicco pocket snack for the exact same reasons/purpose you describe and think it's great

I lob it in the dishwasher when it gets mucky, it comes with a tray as well but I've never used it.

Chicco pocket snack booster

They are around £20 most places? Just take the tray off adjust to the height you need and strap it on to one of your dining chairs.

I second the junior chair from ikea. I don’t like the ones strapped to chairs, heard of too many accidents from them. My not even 2 year old nephew managed to kick off from the edge of the table and tip the whole chair over backwards! We binned it after that. Thankfully he was fine but just a bit shaken
