Banana peel for wart removal

Anyone tried this? It has been recommended by a couple of friends and I just watched a YT video. DS has a couple on his fingers and one on the palm of his hand which is affecting his work and holding the steering wheel while driving. Interested to know if anyone has any experience of this working to remove them.

Never tried it. Get some Salactol, only thing that has worked on my DC's verrucas.

I couldn't get it to stay stuck. Bazooka extra worked, but you absolutely have to do the soaking step.

I tried Bazooka Extra and Wartner and they didn't work for me. I've just done the apple cider vinegar method last month and it was an amazing success on a wart I've had for four years.

@LordNibbler... what's the ACV method?

DevonCherry · 02/11/2018 23:08

Following with interest. Tried to freeze it off with bazooka kit last week but it's not looking that promising.

Ooh yes do tell on the ACV method

The main method recommended for treating a wart with apple cider vinegar is fairly simple. You just need a cotton ball, water, apple cider vinegar, and duct tape or a bandage.

  1. Mix two parts apple cider vinegar in one part water. (I used it neat)
  2. Soak a cotton ball in the vinegar/water solution.
  3. Apply the cotton ball directly on top of the wart.
  4. Cover with tape or a bandage, keeping the cotton ball on the wart overnight as you sleep (or for longer if possible).
  5. Remove the cotton ball and bandage or tape and discard.
  6. Repeat every night until the wart falls off.

I would recommend putting vaseline on the skin surrounding the wart so the vinegar doesn't affect it.

Vinegar! Ds2 had a horrible verruca that was resistant to everything and was huge. Read about vinegar and tried it in desperation. It was gone in a week and we could see it change after each application. Apple cider vinegar is supposed to be the best but we only had white wine vinegar and it worked.

I tried for years to get rid of warts veruccas

Then I started swimming lessons and they disappeared over a few weeks. Must have been all the chlorine

The freezing method at the GP did not work

Welliejellie · 03/11/2018 10:18

I had a verucca on my foot for ages tried everything. Then some on suggested banana peel. Rubbed it on every night for a week and the verucca went. May work for warts too

SistersOfPercy · 03/11/2018 10:52

My Nana used banana peel on me once, then buried it. She reckoned as the peel rotted the wart would too.
Absolute bunkum I now realise, but by some weird quirk my wart did go.

I spent many years believing bananas had some kind of magical properties 😂

flatpack1 · 03/11/2018 23:15

We're going to try it for a couple of weeks. Will report back

Worked on my daughters veruccas! I put a fresh piece of banana peel on them every night for 6 weeks or so ( filing them down and scapelling them away ever so often too.
