Magic 8 ball

Pebblespony · 02/11/2018 19:26

It felt wrong so I went to my GP who referred me to a women's health physio. I went to a gynacologist too to get an idea of severity, potential effect on future pregnancies etc.

howtobehuman · 02/11/2018 19:35

' better not tell you now' 😐

I got it treated with physio and I lost weight. It was mild. I'm fine now.

EvaHarknessRose · 02/11/2018 19:54

I thought i had one and it turned out to be a fibroid pressing heavily down there.

howtobehuman · 02/11/2018 20:13

Hmm ok might wait and see for a bit and do some pelvic floor exercises

OP thanks for asking the question. I wanted to know the answer to this too!

I’ve just been diagnosed with an anterior prolapse. I’ve had it for years and suspected it was a possibility but never took it seriously. My symptoms are a lack of tightness (not sure if this is related), stress incontinence, a heavy ‘dragging’ feeling down there but not all the time but most telling, if I bear down, I can see the wall of my vagina protruding at the entrance. Seems kind of obvious now but I just assumed I would have been told during other gynae appointments (smear, coil fitting, etc) but nobody mentioned a thing.

howtobehuman · 03/11/2018 20:23

See I don't really have any symptoms I just feel like things aren't quite... secure?! & I was straining for a poo the other day and touched the entrance to my vagina and it felt like I was giving birth. Now it definitely wasn't a babies head so what was it?? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Urgh sorry it's making me feel a bit funny reading that. Definitely tightening my pelvic floor now!

Have you just had a baby? Things can take about 6 months to get back to normal.

howtobehuman · 03/11/2018 23:10

No my youngest is almost 3 😕

So, I could tell because I had a kind of...firm dark red rubber dog ball instead of a hole, suddenly.
It did not hurt at all, but anything touching it was like a massive wedgie!

Carolejane · 19/11/2018 03:22

my GP says I have one I am going to see a gynaecologist on Friday in Coventry called Mr Lawrence Anyanwu so as I have never heard of him thought I would check him out but don't seem to be able to find any reviews on him any suggestions ? be quite nice to know a little about someone before I have to get on the table with my fairy on display

explodingkittensexpansion · 19/11/2018 07:43

Tightening your pelvic floor will make no difference if you have a prolapse

They will tell you if you have a smear.
Constipation, tampax falling out, tampax hitting something as you put it in, if you look in the mirror can you see your cervix (like a raw meatball). You feel heavy dragging, incontinence

CluedoAddict · 19/11/2018 07:58

@Carolejane my friend works in Women and Childrens at UHCW. She rates Dr Anyanwu very highly. He has been there years.

Carolejane · 19/11/2018 09:01

Thanks cluedoAddict that’s very reassuring I feel a lot happier about Friday now xx

Fauxgina · 19/11/2018 09:22

Explodingkitten - pelvic floor exercises can certainly help if it's a mild prolapse and if nothing else will stop it worsening.

Op your doctor will refer you to a gynae. It's better you know, you might not need treatment but should at least learn how to keep it stable as it is Flowers

fourquenelles · 19/11/2018 09:27

Mine felt like a small, smooth bald head between my legs. I was referred to a gynaecologist who had a good rummage and recommended Kegel exercises daily. The bald head is still there but it has not got any worse a year later.

Cooroo · 29/11/2018 22:41

I felt an 'obstruction' in the vaginal opening when standing. It disappears when I lie down. I could push it sort of over the public bone so thought it might be bladder.

Went to surgery today and nurse took one look and said it was my cervix! Dear god.

I've had no other symptoms and really don't know when this 'happened' or if it will get worse/fall out altogether??!

Waiting for gynae appointment now. Anyone know how long this takes? Kegeling like crazy. I'm 59 but fit and active. This is a shock.

MyKingdomForBrie · 29/11/2018 22:49

I have a rectocele, google that to see if it sounds similar.

Whatever it is straining for a poo is very bad for it so really try not to do that. Let things happen naturally as much as possible! Look into safe pelvic floor exercises for birth injuries, it's important to get it right.
