What things do you do to improve your life?

I'm adjusting to a new life (divorce, relocation). I am definitely happier on my own (have DC too) in a general sense but I am sure there are more proactive things I could be doing to improve life and make it better/easier/healthier/happier - from tiny little things like having a long soak in the bath to a brand new challenge (no idea what though).

Any tips?

@ohtheholidays

Also treating myself to new underwear and new clothes and shoes and boots,all of my adult life I've struggled with being alright with buying myself things that I want or need.

This is so true. I’m really bad about having very long purchase cycles and take forever to either make decisions or convince myself I have enough money or am worth it. As in, it takes me months or close to a year for some things even though they’re really small. I’m trying to shorten my buying cycles and stop hemming and hawing.

If I want something that will improve my life, I’m just going to buy it. (This is how I’ve convinced myself to buy the new iPad Pro that was debuted two days ago. Grin )

A good night's sleep works wonders for me. No late nights in front of the tv- catch-up (I Player or the others) is a blessing.

I agree with most of the suggestions here (may take up some of them myself). I would also add going to some cultural events like a play or an art exhibition, they don't have to be expensive and can be really inspiring. I try to go to a museum once a month, the buildings and spaces are often beautiful and calming plus you often learn something new.

I cleanse and moisturise my face as soon as I get home, if I leave it until before bed I'm too tired.
