@davethecat that’s awful!! Hope he’s ok now.

Was very quiet here last night. Tons of sweets spare. Went out with ds9 around a couple of streets. Lots of houses with pumpkins not answering the door. Dunno what went on there, maybe it was tea time or something. Lots of very well mannered non grabby children.

DavetheCat2001 · 01/11/2018 15:22

@CurcubitaPepo - he is, thank you.

It was just scary as it could have been so much worse. By the time we had given him the shot his mouth was turning blue and swollen..not good Sad

cafenoirbiscuit · 01/11/2018 15:29

Lovely kids here - I was v impressed to see how many chose satsumas over sweets.
It’s the only night our community feels like one in a year - it’s just lovely to see people

Walkerbean16 · 01/11/2018 15:37

lots of hoohah on the local fb page about teenagers tipping bins, egging houses cars and people, stealing peoples pumpkins and smashing them, one was thrown through a window and an elderly woman recently widowed had a massive brick thrown through her window too :( this is supposed to be a nice village!

PivotPivotPIVOTTT · 01/11/2018 15:38

I got soaked in the rain, my glasses kept steaming up, I had nothing dry to wipe them with, my 1 year old whined in her buggy (while nice and cosy wrapped up under her rain over), kicked off her wellies, flung away her hat and I wheeled over it, ditto her blanket, ditto her dummy more times than I can remember, lots of house ran out off sweets, got home at 8 soaking and starving, 1 year old took longer than usual to fall asleep. I HATED EVERY MINUTE!!! Although once she was asleep it was hot baths and Chinese takeaway for me and my eldest so it ended nicely.

I know this isn't the kind of horror story you're looking for but it was a nightmare for meGrin

We never get trick or treaters around ours and I always end up with a bowl of sweets left over (which mine will happily devour). So last night, I took my youngest to a Halloween party instead and came home around 8pm.

As we got in, I took my dress off so I could clean the guinea pig cage (fluff and hay gets everywhere!). I Collected their waste in a bin bag and opened the door, ready to put the bag out, when I jumped out of my skin and screamed... it was a cute little girl dressed as a scary princess who just stood there saying “trick or treat”. I didn’t expect anyone over and I was stood in my tights 😩 the poor girl ... I could hear her mum laughing as they walked off.

My local village organised an outdoor screening of a kids' halloween film, which was lovely. They even had goody bags for the first 100 children to show up. Unfortunately, this being Ireland, it rained heavily. About 80 people turned up altogether and bravely sat watching the film with raincoats and umbrellas.

NorthernRunner · 01/11/2018 15:53

Had lovely children politely knock our door, I had brought far too much chocolate for the amount of visitors we had so in the end I left it outside on our wall.

After dd was safely I bed I escaped to the gym, figured I needed to burn off all the mini rolls, anyway on my out the gym I text my husband to say I was just walking to bus, it was due in 8mins.
Got to the bus stop and sat down, almost immediately a man approached me, I had no idea from which direction. He asked if I could help him, he had been kicked out of his hostel. I said no sorry I have no cash. He said he doesn’t want money he wants to stay at my house. I said no that’s not possible. He shuffled closer to me and said please can I come back to your house and I moved away and said no. He got really close and there was no more bench for me to slide along and he said he was cold and could he have a hug, his hand stroked down my thigh, I said loudly please don’t touch me and stood up.
I knew there was about 5mins until the bus so thought I’ve got to make a run for it. No one was around and I am not strong, but I can run a little bit. But I saw the bus headlights coming round the corner so figured as he said he was homeless he wouldn’t have the fare to get on bus. I literally jumped on it as soon as it pulled up and went to sit at the back where there were a few men dotted about.
The driver let him on without paying and he came straight over to me, he asked if he could sit next to me and I said in a loud voice no leave me alone please, a lady in front of me heard and turned to look at me, this guy then asked her if he could sit next to her and she said no. I got up and sat right at the front next to the driver. I could feel this man staring at me, i had decided I would wait until the end of the line before getting off, if he was still on the bus, but thankfully he got off after only a couple of stops. I was shaking the whole time and ran from my stop to my house. I kept looking round my shoulder and I cried when I told my husband about it. I wasn’t sure if I should have phoned the police. But as upset and scared as I was, did he commit a crime? Anyway I had such bad dreams about it last night and I have been panicking all day, Hoping he didn’t attack any females in my area. Nothing like this has ever happened to me before, it was the scariest situation I have been in. No one was around until the bus arrived, anything could have happened.

Villanelle123 · 01/11/2018 15:55

Not a single chap at the door

IHeartKingThistle · 01/11/2018 16:02

Ours was lovely until 1am when I came down with a sickness bug so evil that I ended up being ambulanced to hospital this morning. I'm still here being pumped with fluids and drugs and feeling pretty sorry for myself.

And when they let me out there will still be our vomiting pumpkin on the doorstep. Urgh.

Pearofwisdom · 01/11/2018 16:05

I slept funny on my arm and my shoulder and neck are still killing me now

ileclerc · 01/11/2018 16:13

Some little fuckers stole our pumpkins.

PearlandRubies194 · 01/11/2018 16:14

@NorthernRunner

So sorry you went through that, I’d be terrified too. He said he’d been thrown out of his hostel - this could be a bail hostel and if his behaviour is anything to go by, I’d definitely contact the police. Or the local bail hostel/probation office and make a log of it.

PoisonousSmurf · 01/11/2018 16:20

I spent the night dressed as a clown scaring paying customers. Then I drove home in full costume and make up.
Best Halloween ever! Grin

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 01/11/2018 16:22

Slugs ate bad but snails are crunchy and squelchy

I was bringing the guinea-pigs' fleeces in from the line thinking "oh this is just like the scene from "IT" , when I take this last one down, Pennywise will be standing there ....." and stepped on a snail Envy

NorthernRunner · 01/11/2018 16:22

pearlandrubies I hadn’t thought of that. I am a childminder and one of the parents is a police officer so I was going to ask their advice this evening. He ‘only’ touched my thigh once but it’s made me feel sick all day. I have never felt so vulnerable

Ivalueloyaltyaboveallelse · 01/11/2018 16:34

Mainly polite, pleasant, excited children. Although one rather greedy child who came back for seconds after taking massive handfuls. The parents just laughed.

Friendproblems · 01/11/2018 16:35

Our local police FB page is full of incidents surrounding gangs of youths, in various estates in the town, letting off fireworks.

Last Hallowe'en a shop caught fire after a firework was thrown into it (the shop was open), last night the same shop was targetted again.

Fireworks were thrown at trick'n'treaters, including a four year old girl and her mother - then the youths started throwing fireworks at police officers.

The town in Buckinghamshire.

chickensaresafehere · 01/11/2018 16:40

Dh dropped dd & mates off in next town for Halloween student night at nightclub.Standing in an alleyway with a bike & a Jason mask on was a man just staring into the distance, when they walked past him he growled like a dog at them & then rode off!!
Just hearing the story scared me!

Banterlope · 01/11/2018 17:00

Got sent this from a friend in the US last night (well, saw it this morning). Made me laugh

Took ds trick or treating, carved this (supposed to be boo from luigis mansion), and did the ouija board with my sis, was a bit of an anti climax, it just kept spelling my name over and over, with the odd other random word thrown in. Convinced my sis was moving it, but was too tired to think of anything freaky this year.

Pebblesandfriends · 01/11/2018 17:45

Definitely report to police, they'll be able to get CCTV off the bus. If he is homeless reporting him may get him the help he needs, and either way report so no one else has to go through it.

Dontfeellikeaskeleton · 01/11/2018 18:19

How could you tell an owl to feck off? They're so placid

Jagblue · 01/11/2018 18:23

My son brought back a sweet wrapped in human hair. I noticed when I started to pull the white hair out of my mouth. Yuk!
