Peppa pig world, gullivers or CBeebies land

Has anyone been to all of these places? Thinking of booking a trip for feb half term and not sure which to go for. DCs are 2&4. Closest to us and cheapest is gullivers. Wondering if it's worth paying more and going further afield and if we do which we should go for. Basically I'm hoping someone will come on here and say gullivers is just as good/ better than CBeebies land and peppa pig world!

Peppa Pig is much better IMO.
We also love Thomas land at Drayton manor. Benefit of Drayton manor or Alton towers (cbeebies) is the onside hotel where you can also pay extra for theme rooms which Peppa Pig world doesn’t have but it does have a few hotels very nearby.
Also depends on age of dc

How old are your dc? I've not done Cbeebies yet but have done both Paultons (Peppa) and Gullivers (Milton Keynes). Paultons is great but I have a huge affection for Gullivers, we go a couple of times a year and stay in the Adventurers Village for the night (the accommodation is fab!). The parks are lovely. Old fashioned and a bit dated but that's what I think I love about it, it's charming.

DCs are 2 and 4.

Thomas world as well?!

I adore Gullivers and think it's excellent value... but with a 2 and 4 year old I might go for Thomas or Peppa over it. For a 6 year old Gullivers is perfect 👌 it was very cold though last week and I think a lot of the shows/activities really suit 5 and up so your left with the soft plays and a few rides really and the farm bit of Dino Land

At 2 Thomas Land (Drayton Manor) was AWESOME

selfidentifyinggiraffe · 30/10/2018 20:14

If you do pick Gullivers though I def recommend staying in Advenurers village - but make sure it's a heated hut! The beach ones are gorgeous and overlook the lake... but I think you fall in love with the village if you do all the activities included - marshmallow toasting, pedalo, story time, games... and of course take a poundshop BBQ and have a little lakeside BBQ

The huts are very small though which I personally think is part of its charm and fun... but I don't think you'd fit a buggy inside easily.

We recently went to CBeebies land and I actually found it really disappointing- there wasn't actually that much to do there. We have been to peppa pig land and Thomas land and found them both much better. Also really enjoyed Gullivers, not as smart but rides are well suited to younger children.

Shmithecat · 30/10/2018 20:30

@selfidentifyinggiraffe we always stay in the beach huts, they're so lovely! Agree, they're very cosy, but again, charming and well equipped. The sand pit on the doorstep is a winner. No, you wouldnt get a pushchair in there, but the last two times we stayed we were lucky with the weather, and I left it outside on the decking without a problem.

MissMalice · 30/10/2018 20:32

Thomas Land best for little ones IMO. They also have a little zoo and a dinosaur bit which gives them space to run around rather than being cooped up in queues all day.

mnahmnah · 30/10/2018 20:40

CBeebies is a real let-down. Huge queues. Not many rides. The rides are unimaginative. Expensive.

Gullivers is very dated and run down. Sure it was great 30 years ago.

Thomasland is amazing! Lots of rides to keep you going all day. Different types of rides too. Big Thomas train that takes you to the zoo part. Brill.

selfidentifyinggiraffe · 30/10/2018 20:45

@Shmithecat I'd live in one of those if I could, they're so lovely! I met someone this weekend there and she was furious how small they were... I was astonished someone hadn't fallen in love with them as they're so cute but she did say her kids were hyperactive 😁

I think part of Gullivers magic is there really isn't ever much of a queue so you do get to do a lot. I find the datedness and slightly unPC attractions rather nostalgic myself!

I'm trying to think what rides you can't do with little ones and to be fair there are actually a lot you can do with them I think... but you could check the website OP for the height restrictions when deciding

It's definitely the best value for money!

wonderwelly · 30/10/2018 21:01

Really helpful. Thanks.

Looks like CBeebies is off the cards. Am thinking of doing Thomas land or peppa pig world. And booking a gullivers trip with an over night stay when they're a bit older - maybe next year.

If you can afford it I would go for a themed room if you do Thomas

Otherwise it's not much different to any other hotel and travelodge might be just as good

Although they do have activities in half term in the hotel I think and I do remember my son loving it that some characters were involved in that

Scotinoz · 30/10/2018 21:08

We've done Peppa World twice now. The kids loved it; very clean, organised, queues were fine etc. We were there earlier in the year, kids were 3 and 4, and we did bits of the main Paultons park too. There was quite a few things which little ones could go on. Plus under 1metre high go free.

Another vote for Thomas Land! Did for my little boy's 3rd and 4th birthday.
