SAD and breastfeeding

I'm really feeling the winter blues already, I think bfing may be making it worse. My DD is nearly 6 months and we've started weaning but I really don't want to quit yet.

It's unusual for me to be feeling this low this early, it usually hits me January time.

I've previously used 5htp and yoga but these are out of the question atm.

I've read about light boxes but I'm not sure I've actually got the time to sit in front of one. Especially as your supposed to do it first thing. Could I bf whilst using it?

I've also read about the alarms, has anybody any experience? Would it wake my DD up?

I'm especially struggling with fatigue, low mood, and serious carb craving.

Any advice/ tips would be very welcome.

“I've previously used 5htp and yoga but these are out of the question atm.”

Why?

I understand how hard it is to make time for yourself when you have a 6 month old. I stopped going to yoga for months. And my mental health suffered. Please do make time for yoga if you can.

Also I think fatigue and carb cravings are normal when breastfeeding and looking after a baby.

I just tried to type a long list of excuses.... but your right I really should try my best to make time for it, even if it means getting up early. I like classes best but I just can't make them work atm.

As for the fatigue and carb craving, I was feeling brilliant a few weeks ago. I know they are symptoms of the SAD.

Fair enough!
I’m thinking about getting a lamp myself as the winter seems to affect me too.
Also I go to yoga on a Saturday as that’s the only time I can fit it in, DH looks after our son.
