Suggestions for a hen day/night in London

Hi all

This is a 'first world problems' question I know, but my friends want to throw a hen party for me and would like me to suggest something that I'd like to do. My mind has gone totally blank!

I'm pushing 50, I've been married before and anything even remotely 'hen night-y' gives me the shudders.

But I love them all dearly and I know it's important to them and they love to organise stuff, so I'm looking for some suggestions as what to do. I'd happily sit around eating and drinking with them all day, but I suspect they'll want something a bit more eventful.

It'll be a Saturday in January in central London. Budget not unlimited but we're not desperately cash strapped either. I'm a Londoner by birth so you'd think I'd be able to come up with something, but nope!

Could you lovely people start the ball rolling by making some suggestions?

TIA

For my hen do, we did the London Eye with champagne in the pod, followed by a nice meal and cocktails, then on to a comedy club.

One of the piano bars is usually good fun for a hen party evening and suit most peoples tastes. There are several so pick one that is handy for your other activities.

I went on a hen weekend for a second time bride who was about your age.

We had afternoon tea, a walk round seeing the sights, went to a couple of major London attractions (museums, galleries etc) and as we were staying 2 nights, one night we went out for a meal and the second night we got posh nibbles, prosecco etc and stayed in and just had a natter.

To limit the cost, we planned in advance and got cheap train tickets, Groupon for the afternoon tea (it wasn't the Ritz or anything, but a nice hotel and nice experience), the paid attraction was 2 for 1 linked to the train ticket and the museums and galleries were free.

Thanks all. I do like the idea of afternoon tea (CAKE!!!!) and a comedy club. Don't think we'll be out wandering about too much in January but you never know. Prosecco warms you up, right?

Hidden City treasure hunt/walking tour.

Drinks at Gong in the Shard?

I had the best hen ever, we did pottery painting at the Pottery Cafe in Fulham with cocktails, then on to more cocktails, a really nice dinner and ended up at Karaoke Box. My most precious tea mug is the one I did that day which all the girls signed and then they fired it for me. It still makes me smile every time I use it.
