Reassure me my slow cooked chicken won't kill me?

I've just done a whole chicken in the slow cooker. I've followed the recipe but it's going against all my safe chicken cooking instincts. (It looking so flaccid doesn't help )

Has anyone slow cooked a chicken and lived to tell the tale?

Ive done it dozens of times. Just check it isn't pink or that it is up to temp and eat it. Mine always fell apart when I tried to take it out so was safe to say it was done!

It's fine I reckon. I did a whole one once in the slow cooker...never again. Looks absolutely vile...tastes slimy and greasy...limp, grey looking skin...just disgusting.

I do it loads! But I must confess I always bung it in a hot oven for 20 minutes to crisp it up. Although getting it out in one piece is nearly impossible as it is so floppy and juicy. I do love it though, so juicy,

Yes its just more like poaching than roasting. As long as you cooked on the right setting for the right time and didn’t lift the lid too much it will be thoroughly safe.

After an extra hour on "high" and 5 mins under the grill, I'm now reassured it's cooked! Thanks all.

Hope you enjoyed your chicken.

I have done a few in the slow cooker and we are all still alive to tell the tale. Wasn't sure if ds1, he has autism and refuses to eat lots of things, would eat it but even he liked it!
