Which is your favourite Quality Street?

Everyone knows Quality Street is the best tin of confectionery, especially at this time of year. Other inferior tins especially roses are not welcome in this house.

DP and I have just cracked open our first tin (it was meant to be for trick or treaters... I doubt there will be any left by then) and he has asked me which one is my favourite. I can’t answer him! I like them all!!

So, help me out here... which is your favourite, and why? And your least favourite?

The strawberry ones are RANK! If we have a tub here then we chuck out the orange and strawberry creams as no-one will touch them.

fessmess · 28/10/2018 18:58

Purple one or fudge.

BusySittingDown · 28/10/2018 19:02

TBF, I’m not fussy though - I love them all.

One of the best parts of Christmas is ploughing through the Quality Street, Roses and Ferrero Rocher.

I was in the Bluewater John Lewis at the weekend and there were loads of people swarming around the pick n’ mix Quality Street, all looking vaguely delirious at being able to weed out the ones they don’t like!
It was quite Charlie and The Choc Factory-ish looking at the huge pick n mix filled with sections of green/ pink etc.
I’m definitely going back to do it at some point when I’m not dragging two DC around! Grin

southnownorth · 28/10/2018 19:03

Orange cream. We went to John Lewis today and filled our own tin, each of us chose a flavour each. It was bloody expensive though.

MongerTruffle · 28/10/2018 19:07

Why is MN nestle free
Mainly because of the infant formula scandal

My favourite used to be The Purple One, until around August-September time when I realised that it tastes different
My favourite is now the Orange Chocolate Crunch.

FrazzyAndFrumpled · 28/10/2018 19:10

BusySittingDown your Christmas sounds like mine... except for the roses! Did I mention, I don’t like roses? Grin

Thanks to this thread, I have told dh we are off to John Lewis next weekend to do a pick and mix tin for Christmas!

I thank you, dh thanks you, the dc thank you - my waistline is ambivalent! Grin

Only a few stores do it, though:
White City, London
High Wycombe
Cheadle, Stockport
Bluewater, Kent
Cribbs Causeway, Bristol
Glasgow
Liverpool
Cambridge
Kingston, London
Trafford, Manchester
Oxford Street, London

Craving a proper, metal tin? Tesco have ADORABLE mini ones, three quid a pop. I could not resist.

BalthazarImpresario · 28/10/2018 19:23

Strawberry and orange creams

Cocolepew · 28/10/2018 19:24

You can usually get a small box of strawberry, orange and lemon(!) creams in Tesco.

drumandthebass · 28/10/2018 19:38

Orange cream
Coconut
Fudge

SleepySofa · 28/10/2018 19:41

Strawberry because of the dark chocolate, and the Toffee Penny.

MorrisZapp · 28/10/2018 19:44

Strawberry cream
Orange cream

Littlechocolatepumkins · 28/10/2018 20:52

Green triangle for sure.

Baffled by all the strawberry cream answers.

Although I'm not taken by the pic n mix idea. Misses the point for me. I kind of like that you have favourites, so-so ones....and then the ones you leave to the end but enjoy when you're desperate.

Crinkle77 · 28/10/2018 20:54

Fudge and the Orange creams are second.

MapleSpice · 28/10/2018 20:56

Pink fudge, always! My partner and I both like different ones so we buy two tins and swap for our favourites

RobinsEggBlue · 28/10/2018 20:57

I love them all! Except the new one in the brown wrapper. That one is an abomination

southnownorth · 28/10/2018 20:57

It wasn't really pic n mix either. I thought I would be picking them myself, but you had to tick a sheet of which ones you wanted and the man got them for you.

I guess it stops ill fingers touching them.

Watto1 · 28/10/2018 21:02

We love all the toffees at Watto Towers, especially the brown square one. The orange hexagon and the chocolate block are favoured by the dc. The strawberry and orange creamed are always left at the bottom of the tin, along with the pink fudge and the coconut. As luck would have it, Dsis lives just down the road and has completely the opposite taste to us. We swap our rejects when we meet up on Boxing Day!

LostontheWestway · 28/10/2018 21:03

Orange cream is the best, followed by the soft caramel one.

The green triangle,
Strawberry cream and the blue coconut ones are always left in the bottom of the tin at our house.

BonnieF · 28/10/2018 21:11

None of them. Quality Street are rubbish chocolates. Roses are a far superior product.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 28/10/2018 21:47

Thanks, @whyohwhy000 - my local one does do it - I checked (twice). It does mean I am going to get a nice wander round JL too!

DuckofDoom · 29/10/2018 00:04

Green Triangle is absolutely the best. Also love Orange Crunch
Despise the strawberry and orange creams Envy
