Odd quirks that only your family does

Mine sit on the kitchen worktops, when waiting for the kettle to boil or just to have a chat. never thought anyone else did this! Anyone else got any?

Pirs are holiday journey related. We yell "Camper Van" whenever we see a VW. (Actually we do that one all the time)
On our way home from holiday we count caravans versus motor homes.

Start singing a made up "I see the sea" song when we first spot it.
Journey home starts with going the long way round on the coast road so we can say goodbye to the sea.

Getting really cross when someone writes on the tag of a lovely gift bag so it can't be reused.

Whenever the cupboards are bare and we are struggling with what to have for dinner etc we always make obscene suggestions of things that just do not go together, ie eggs with chocolate sauce, banana and baked beans. This was started many years ago when DP decided he was going to eat fruit yogurt and Jacobs Crackers for a snack, which was not a very appetising combination and to this day the worst idea he has ever had. This is always our first suggestion to get the game going, obviously.

If I’ve come home from the shop without what I went for, but with a bagful of random stuff, we say it’s an Angel Delight and hot dog sausage shop.

This started after a slightly traumatic trip to the supermarket with two of someone else’s kids when we were first married. I left with the aforementioned items and nothing else, despite going in for a full shop.

I dislike both Angel Delight and hot dog sausages, but they were the loudest, most active kids ever and my brain began to melt after the first 10 minutes.

We make a ringing sound every so often and the family member has to answer the phone (the phone being another family members foot).

We replace the words in songs with the name of my long dead dog...

When DS was little and I needed him to stop running about or grabbing something (or was trying to stuff a while Toblerone into his mouth or hide some contraband into his bag) I'd yell 'assume the position' which meant stop still and put both hands on your head.

We still do it.

When someone in our house says stop, the appropriate response is to reply hammertime and then do a very silly dance. If someone bends over for any reason, you have to slap their bottom and shout "bum,bum".

Another we did was if the doorbell rang, or we got asked to do a job we’d all put our finger on our nose and the last one would have to do it - we’re all now between 30 and 40 and still do this at our parent’s house

Banana car shouted out loud followed by a light tap/punch. I beat DH 7-2 while out last week, he claims he gave up half way through but he's a sore loser

So so many, we always shout "monorail" if we ever see one.
We have several songs we've made up for the cats to "sing".
Any statement can be repeated with "you're" in front to make it an insult. Example - "that paint is a bit tacky" "you're a bit tacky!".
DH makes a chicken noise any time anyone says the word chicken or we see a chicken.
Mostly though just quotes from adverts and tv programs. The recent cornflakes advert is a particular favourite just now.

We all yell “Disco at the prison!” whenever we drive past the well illuminated, local HMP at night time.

There is a massive pig farm on the way to London for us and we always shout/

Look kids, pig city

Also if we get lost in the car we say- look kids Big Ben from national lampoons vacation.

We play "VW" where every family member has their own brand of car and we just shout the brand when we see it 😂
