Hi just wondering what it says in the title really!

Had my f2f on 1st Oct and a text saying report recieved on 5th Oct.

Was just wondering how long people have waited for descions?
I rang up to change my address and was quoted 8-10 weeks. I’m so impatient and just want to know either way :(.

The assessor was absolutely lovely and did say at the end she would be shocked if I didn’t receive it but don’t want it to get my hopes up tbh.

Ring up and ask for the assessors report. It will give you a good idea of the outcome

So I must have been awarded it as I’ve had a backdated payment in my bank randomly 😀 can’t work out what I’ve been awarded but think its standard on both. I don’t mind though I’m just bloody grateful that I’ve got it

Good to hear positive news. I received my invitation to change over from DLA last week. Heard so many scare stories of people being turned down its terrifying. I've been on indefinite award for 15 years but know it's no guarantee.

HCantThinkOfAUsername · 31/10/2018 19:15

@proud I rang up last week to change my address and they said there was no update but my award letter that arrived today confirming what I’ve got is dated from last mon!
I’ve been marked down or given nil points in areas I really should have had more but I’m not going to contest it and risk losing any money.

@theoriginal I can imagine it’s really daunting, I was absolutely petrified of mine, I had my social worker with me for support - she answered the door etc for me, not pre planned but out of habit as I’m really sore, and that helped in my report. I know it sounds minor but little things like that seemed to have helped.

I'm struggling really badly at the moment with sciatica and depression. People have told me to see about claiming. It doesn't look like I'll be able to work for the foreseeable future. I'm in agony day in day out and surviving on painkillers and sertraline. I feel ashamed. I know I won't get it but zi need to at least try. Things are horrifically tight even though dh works. I count down the days to child benefit day as it's the only time I ever have cash. That goes within a day. I was looking up the web info on claiming and it says you need to call up but I freeze. I don't want to put myself out there. How can I tell some stranger that I can only go up/down the stairs one step at a time? I'm 39. Stuff like I have struggled to shower as I find it hard to stand and raise my hands above my head? I can't cook. Clean. I had to quit my new job after one shift as I couldn't stand stil for so long.
I'm so miserable, in pain and skint.

@baron please please make the call - they just ask a couple of questions and send a form out. Once that’s sent back they let you know about a f2f.
I’m 26 and I’m exactly how you’ve described yourself and I’ve been awarded it.
I wish I had done it years ago, I listened to so many horror stories it oh me off.
CAB can help massively too.
Don’t feel ashamed Flowers
