Shoes for big footed children

I’ve got a 9 year old daughter who’s feet are now nudging a size 5 and as such, not really catered for in childrens’ shoe ranges. Anyone got any recommendations for sourcing nice shoes and boots that are an appropriate style for a youngster, even if officially an adult range?

We’re specifically looking for long winter boots, and a some party shoes that don’t look too ‘old’ thank you!

I have this issue too, especially as my 8yo, size 4 DS is not 100% with laces, so for situations where he needs to be able to be quick we still need Velcro.

For winter boots this year I just bought some generic stable yard 'muck boots' that zip up the front. Riding boots might be your friend.

Can't help with party shoes! Grin

Clarks children's shoes go up to a size 10 so good for school shoes but I don't know what they do in party shoes.

Might be worthwhile taking a look at their website. In fact, it might be worth looking at a variety of websites to see what you like the look of before going to any shops to try shoes on to save you time and boring visits to shoe shops to not find anything suitable.

Our 8 yr old ds is an adult size 5 and we got his last school shoes from Asda so might be worth looking at supermarkets for party shoes or boots. (They older boys were too big footed for Asda and their adult shoes were not right for them, but they definitely had size 5s for the youngest.)

O have the same problem - size 4 nearly 9 yr old DS. It's a massive pain as most kids ranges finish at a 2-3 and the men's start at a 6-7 plus he still wants kids ranges and colours.

I've had success with Clarks, Deichman, Next, Sainsburys for boys shoes. I've also found plain, dark coloured ladies trainers work as they start at a 3-4. D'S currently has dark blue ladies Skechers and we're working on the lace tying.

There is a big gap in the market for under 10s with big feet.

Just to.add I had success with ladies short leg wellies for DS. The leg length is just below his knees whereas full.length adult wellies are.too long for him.

Similar problem with my 8yo DD she's just a 4 but has inherited my narrow feet which makes it even harder! She got some black ankle boots from M&S last week which are sparkly at the back. Think the kids go up to size 5 or 6.
I've not seen recent stock but New Look do kids shoes up to a 6.

I was going to say New Look for party shoes in their teen range.

My 9 year old dd lives in trainers or Chelsea style boots. Her feet are really wide too which doesn't help. Dds last long boots were Ricosta not sure what size they go up to though and they were £££. Thankfully she's not a party shoe kind of girl. You could probably get some sparkly ballet flats in Primark/New Look/HM in the adult section especially coming into Christmas.
