Which car would you buy?

Audi TT, 9 years old, 4WD, diesel - or Peugeot RCZ, petrol. Similar mileage and price.

I've had opinions from a couple of knowledgeable friends, and my dad!

My head says one, my heart the other, although after advice I may be changing my mind.

Please give me your opinions! :)

Oops sorry, RCZ is 7 years old.

What colours are they?

Partyfops · 26/10/2018 21:18

Audi TT

Racecardriver · 26/10/2018 21:22

The Audi. When buying a car you should imagine what would happen if you were sandwiched between two cars in a car crash.

AuntieMay · 26/10/2018 21:26

The audi - I had a tt and still regret getting rid of it. It was beautiful, almost a liliac colour, purple grey sheen with cream leather seats, I loved that car!
I want another..... absolutely lovely cars.

dannydyerismydad · 26/10/2018 21:27

Neither. If the TT was petrol it would win hands down. But French cars are flimsy.

greendale17 · 26/10/2018 21:28

Audi hands down. I wouldn’t touch a Peugeot

ginghambox · 26/10/2018 21:31

If you are a hairdresser the TT, otherwise the RCZ.

WowOoo · 26/10/2018 21:34

Neither...I'm with DannyDyer, poster above. If I had to it'd be the TT.

ICouldBeSomebodyYouKnow · 26/10/2018 21:35

I wouldn’t touch a Peugeot
Fine with me - send them my way! We've had 4 Pugs - 3 of them at the same time Blush - and find them reliable and reasonable cost to run. Sold one to my brother last year and he's delighted with it. I fancy an RCZ myself ...

Santaclarita · 26/10/2018 21:44

Audi. Never choose French over German. Not with cars at least.

LennyLady · 26/10/2018 21:49

I bought a TT a week ago now and I bloody love it, so definitely TT alllllll the way, you won't regret it

happinessiseggshaped · 26/10/2018 21:50

I'd spend the money on a less sporty/fashionable car and get something much newer. Seems a waste of money to buy a car already 9 years old.

Sirzy · 26/10/2018 22:01

Audi.

My partners is 18 and going strong

AlessandroVasectomi · 26/10/2018 22:56

Only buy the TT if you want to be stereotyped as an Audi driver. I get a little fed up of the prejudice I suffer due to the behaviour of other Audi drivers.

TalkUsernameYoudLike · 26/10/2018 23:04

Always an Audi. I have a 5 year old A1, done around 80,000 miles and is an absolute dream. Flies through MOTs with no advisories.

selfishcrab · 26/10/2018 23:22

TT, had mine for 5 years before I sold it ( I normally keep a car 18 months).
Never let me down and was quite nippy and economical.
Another who wouldn't have a Peugeot.

safariboot · 27/10/2018 00:54

Knowing what we know now about emissions I wouldn't touch any diesel with a bargepole.

VenusClapTrap · 27/10/2018 07:28

I wouldn’t buy diesel now either. And I say that as an owner of a ten year old diesel Audi which has been absolutely great.

Angrybird345 · 27/10/2018 07:39

Audi, not Peugeot.

MyKingdomforaNameChange · 27/10/2018 09:13

Yes, the diesel bit puts me off.

My brother in law works at a huge Dealership, and says the opposite to many of you - don't touch the TT. The 4WD is expensive when if it goes wrong, as is the instrument panel.

I'm going to test drive them both and see what I think. I'm leaning towards the RCZ, it's petrol and prettier! But will see what I think when I've driven them.

I WANT a sporty type car - I've driven Landies and bangers for almost 30 years. I want something pretty and fun before it's too late :D 7 or 9 years old is practically new to me! We have a 1952 Series One at home so my perspective might be skewed :p

Can't make the decision on colour - they are both black :D

Audi german engine can last a long time

Santaclarita · 27/10/2018 10:45

The emissions bit hardly matters. If you don't buy it, someone else will. Still going to pollute the environment either way. But you'd have a more reliable car. But buy the Peugeot if you like regularly fixing cars.
