Can anybody help me find a tender document template

I posted this in self employed / freelance but had no replies so posting for traffic

DH is a self-employed electrician, I've always done his bookkeeping & paperwork but as times gone on his business has grown & he's now getting enquiries for bigger projects.

A lot of work he's getting asked to submit tenders for but I don't know where to start with the actual layout of a tender document.

I tried google but haven't found anything that I think is suitable. Does anybody know where I will be able to find a decent template that could be adapted?

Thanks in advance

Hi

I couldn't find masses and some organisations may well have their own form they want you to fill in at the invitation to tender stage, especially public sector, but here are a few sites that might help you. Some of the documents are pretty long I'm afraid!

www.tidyform.com/tender-document.html

www.template.net/business/proposal-templates/bid-proposal-template/

www.building.co.uk/tender-template/585.article - this one has a good brief overview of what to include

www.zemaitis-uk.com/tender-template/ is a general advice site

www.the-escape.co.uk/showcase/how-to-create-winning-tender-documents is another general advice site

simpleweb.co.uk/tendering-guide-for-smes-how-to-prepare-a-tender-template/ and so is this one

Hopefully you'll find something suitable amongst those and congratulations on your partner getting more and presumably higher value work!

Amazing Canny thank you so much, so helpful & kind of you.

I'm going to settle down at the pc now & have a good read through them

Hmmm...
I've had to submit requests for tender for the Civil Service. The ususal routine is that the project owner decides the key info they want and invite tenders that answer those needs - there should be little need for the bidding party to have their own template (and this might not be useful in each bid anyway).

I agree with adam
the tender should have all requirements laid out.
but the templates can give hints about the required style and useful clauses.

I suppose it also depends on the size of the organisation seeking tenders and their anticipated response rate. If they expect more than half a dozen responses, it really helps them to have all submissions in the same format for easier comparison. The onus should be on them to set such a format though

I feel with tenders, we don't give companies a set form to follow but as a minimum we like to see:
Price per housetype split between 1st fix, 2nd fix and finals
List of inclusions and exclusions
Fixed price period
