What car do you have?

I am seriously thinking of getting a therapy dog for DS2. He attends dog therapy and he gets real benefits from it. My concern is I drive a corsa and I don't think I will fit 3 DC's (although the oldest drives and has a car so the times he comes out with us are rare) myself and a dog in it safely and comfortably.

I have a small car (hyundai i10) and a small dog. She goes either in the (small) boot or, if I'm using that for other stuff, on the back seat between dcs. She wears a harness and is secured in either place.

We also have a larger family car which my dh drives and we use for holidays and family trips etc.

But I do think dog size might be your most important factor here.

We have a skoda superb and a Ford kuga. Both take the lab with a boot splitter meaning the double buggy can fit in the boot too.

Thank you. DS has worked with both cocker spaniels and Cockapoos so something like that size. I think anything bigger would intimidate him and defeat the object.

Mercedes E Class estate. Does 2 large dogs and 4 Adults comfortably, 5 adults on short trips or if not too much luggage. Dogs have whole boot with dog guard. Previous car was a BMW 5 Series and a similar arrangement was no problem. Family have a Sportage and this has been fine with 4 adults one dog, but a much higher jump in/out of boot for the pup.

I have a passat estate 2 kids under 4 and a Dalmatian. Can fit lots in but for holidays or camping we need the roof box too as the dog takes up the boot.

Mazda 5. Fits the kids and the dog secured in his harness on the back seat for long runs with tons of boot space, huge boot for dog plus pushchair for short trips and bonus 2 seats in the boot for when the grandparents visit (can still fit pushchair in boot with extra seat up but dog sits on middle seat!)
