New pram doesn't fit through front door!!

I'm so annoyed. Got a new pram for my twins but it doesn't fit through the front door of our house! I measured it first and thought it would fit!!!

This was my key pram choosing point. Can you return it? If it won’t gonthrough your door you might struggle everywhere

Neonrainbow · 25/10/2018 20:15

I feel your pain. Twins here too and no pram would fit through my stupid narrow front door. 2 years of putting them in the pram in the front garden!

twinniebee · 25/10/2018 20:26

Problem is I've used it outside so doubt it can be returned

I had this. I had to remove a wheel every time I took it in or out. Such a pain.

MadMum101 · 25/10/2018 20:43

Brings back memories of having to park pram in garage and carry mine indoors/carry them out to the garage. So glad that's long behind me!

The only pram that fitted was a tandem which I hated getting up kerbs.

Do you have side access? Can pram be pushed round to patio doors at back if you have them?

MadeForThis · 25/10/2018 20:48

City jogger mini double is quite narrow. Easily makes it through my front door.

Not that helps you now. Sorry

donajimena · 25/10/2018 20:52

I had this with my double buggy. I had to partially collapse the stroller by pulling the pins up on each side. I don't know whether you can do this with yours but its probably not safe and would be a nightmare as they got bigger. I lasted a week. Sold it at a huge loss considering its age and bought a second hand Phil n Ted.

Somewhereovertherainbow13 · 25/10/2018 20:52

Have you tried pivoting in through the doors, mine wouldn’t go in straight but I managed to get it in at angle and then squeeze myself around it

IHeartMarmiteToast · 25/10/2018 20:56

I keep mine in the car boot if that helps. I have steep steps so can't get mine to the door anyway

twinniebee · 25/10/2018 20:58

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone. Unfortunately I've tried all of the above and still no good. I'm so annoyed with myself as I was sure it would fit through the door.

See if you can sell it on eBay/gumtree/Facebook group to get some of you money back and perhaps buy a second hand one yourself?
I’m a childminder and the most narrow double buggy I found was the cosatto, it was fairly heavy but it fitted on all buses.

ChikiTIKI · 25/10/2018 21:07

Where did you buy it?worth cleaning the wheels and asking for a return. Most department stores should let you return it.

Forgottencoffee · 25/10/2018 21:25

I had a pram from mamas and papas, after a couple of uses outside I decided I didn’t like it. We took it back for a refund and told them we’d used it but they still accepted it so it’s worth a try.

Di11y · 25/10/2018 22:11

was it bought online and delivered? If so you're entitled to try it out and return in 7 days.

this would include trying it outside.

twinniebee · 26/10/2018 05:47

I got it from eBay. Was brand new but seller states I can only return it if it's in unused condition. I'm wondering if I should contact them and tell them the problem.

OP posts:
Sammysquiz · 26/10/2018 07:47

I would clean it up & sell it on eBay yourself.

Peachypeaches · 26/10/2018 10:30

Double check the measurements on the eBay ad against the actual pram. If they’re not 100% accurate then this might allow you to return it.
