DS was weighed and measured at school the other day and we had letter through last night warning us he was overweight- in the 93rd centile.

I'm absolutely gutted, having a hard time at the moment; having come back to work full time, DS is struggling with reading and writing, he has been physically hurt on 3 different occasions by another pupil at school and I feel like I am letting him down as it is, and now this.

He is 106cm and 20kg and looks completely normal, but not wanting to do a Daily Mail sad face, I have to take it on board and deal with it.

I just feel awful though and wondered if anyone had same? He looks normal- can see his ribs and is active, this has just thrown me :/

For little ones the difference of a few pounds can push them into the overweight bracket. A small change in activity and portion size/snacks will likely make a big difference in a short space of time.

Don’t give yourself too much of a hard time, as society our perspective of a healthy body has changed. You’re avoiding doing the whole “bmi is bullshit” denial game and are looking to make things better, that in itself is doing a great job.

(sorry, I had written in paragraphs but it just threw up a wall of text)

Thank you! My honest first reaction was 'bollocks!' but I had a read up about it, and there are things I could probably change so will crack on.

It's just one area I really thought I wasn't going wrong on, but I'm ballsing this up too 😫
