Where are you getting off the train?!

Yes, Kensington Gardens is very close by.

hmmwhatatodo · 24/10/2018 11:29

Not really but it’s pretty cold to sit in a park anyway. Just wander around the streets nearby if you’re heading there?

HarrietKettleWasHere · 24/10/2018 11:31

It’s not. I’m in Kensington gardens right now. It’s really mild and quite sunny Confused

And literally a ten min walk from the museum Hmm

HRTpatch · 24/10/2018 11:32

Spitalfields

SuperLoudPoppingAction · 24/10/2018 11:32

Science and natural history museum are dead close as well.
And there's a little art gallery in the park.

HarrietKettleWasHere · 24/10/2018 11:33

‘Wander the streets nearby’

That would be boring.

Villanellesproudmum · 24/10/2018 11:34

My dd just loves chilling in convent garden, street entertainment and markets. She would be bored in a museum now she is a teen sadly.

LEMtheoriginal · 24/10/2018 11:34

Victoria. Can we get a bus ? Dd scared of underground. I dont like it either

And why would wandering the streets around the V&A be boring Harriet? One mans pain is another mans pleasure.

Op the V&A has a little (not that little) courtyard with seating and a fountain that’s quite nice to sit in.

PsychoSyd · 24/10/2018 11:39

If you're going to the V&A, get the number 52 bus. It stops at the top of Exhibition Road.

HarrietKettleWasHere · 24/10/2018 11:39

Because apart from restaurants and cafes there’s not much around that area, that’s why Other areas are more interesting.

hmmwhatatodo · 24/10/2018 11:40

Well you could always head to the south bank, see the London eye, Big Ben and all that and go up to regents street, China town, Covent Garden, fortnums, walk through green park to see Buckingham palace. All doable on foot and some buses if you don’t like tubes, though they should be fairly quiet now.

maxelly · 24/10/2018 11:41

The C1 bus goes from Victoria direct to the V and A if I remember correctly...

HarrietKettleWasHere · 24/10/2018 11:43

c1 not nearly as regular as 52

ShatnersWig · 24/10/2018 11:45

I never tired of just walking around London, streets or parks. You always see new things, places to pop into, places to stop for a drink and watch the world go by.

ButFirstTea · 24/10/2018 11:46

You could walk from Victoria to V&A in half an hour and it would be more interesting than the bus or tube. Lots of potential cafes to stop at too.

Had a lovely day. Thankyou for the heads up re walking. I love wandering around London - usually agape at houses i couldnt afford to buy cupboard space in! We went to v&a stopping off at harrods on the way. Never been - wow!!! The food halls omg!! Then a stroll through hyde park before train journey home. I love London

Glad you had a good time. I have not been to the V &A for years! I live in London and love walking around. Sometimes you come across interesting buildings and things you would otherwise have missed, plus there is the 'nosey' element of checking out other people's property!
