My six year old has had it for the past few years and gets hers at school in November. A child at her school (unvaccinated as they had been overseas during vaccination season) died of swine flu last year so think uptake in our group is pretty high this year Sad

Dd has it last week at school, Ds about an hour ago, a drop in clinic at the doctors :)

m0therofdragons · 23/10/2018 16:33

Ours will be 7 December! I'm not impressed. I run the flu campaign in our area so have spent the last month banging on about how important herd immunity is in kids to keep a population well only to find out my dc won't be having it until halfway through flu season.

Yesterday. School doesn't do it and it took a bit of battling to get the phone number out of the GP surgery to book DS in.

I told the receptionist I was happy to pay if that was the case but my child was going to be immunised and could I please just have the correct information for five year olds. Called the phone number and booked him into an NHS clinic full of small children where the only service was nasal spray.

No idea why it took so much effort.

December Hmm

musicinspring1 · 23/10/2018 17:23

December for my dc too. School must be at the end of the list Hmm

Stuckforthefourthtime · 23/10/2018 17:24

Just done it for all my DCs. Theirschool doesn't do it until December, and one of my DCs has extremely severe asthma and even a bad cold has put him in hospital, so paid £12.99 each to get it done at the GPs office during half term.

Brot64 · 23/10/2018 17:24

None of mine are having it or ever have.

hazeyjane · 23/10/2018 18:35

School is doing them at the end of Nov though.

Idontbelieveinthemoon · 23/10/2018 18:51

DS2's school is doing them at the end of November. He had his at the GP a month ago or so via needle as he has asthma and routinely gets his letter each year.

Kaykay06 · 23/10/2018 19:11

Mid November, usually get a call from school nurse to check if my youngest is well enough and if he’s been on steroids recently he missed it last year due to this and never caught him up so hope he stays well to get it this year. His asthma is horrendous with a cold but otherwise control is very good.

icebearforpresident · 23/10/2018 19:17

My eldest had it a few weeks ago at school and my youngest had on Saturday. My GP practice runs a Saturday clinic for flu vaccinations so she got it while I was having mine.

BlaaBlaaBlaa · 23/10/2018 19:19

@brot any particular reason?

GetTheGoodLookingGuy · 23/10/2018 19:47

Next week at the school I work at. I've been annoying the 11 parents in my class who haven't returned the form, and telling them that if they don't want their child to have it, please return the form saying that, and then I'll stop hassling them!
