to ask the teacher?

DS started reception in September. He's an August born, if that makes any difference.

He has PE on a Monday at 9.30. He has come home at least 4 times at 3.25 with his shoes on the wrong feet.

I'm 100% behind him having to dress/undress himself but I'm concerned about his shoes being on the wrong feet for such a length of time, and on so many occasions.

Have found about shoezooz and have printed some off to put into his shoes.

WIBU to mention this and ask that they give him a bit of help?

I think it’s a great idea to ask, my sister was a teacher and she would have no issue with this.

A quick glance for a child who has a habitual issue will take a teacher all of 30 seconds to check.
‘Jack let me see your shoes before you get on the carpet’ is nothing.

I would go and ask for them to keep an eye on it but I’m sure others will follow who will say it’s an unreasonable request.

I know it's a pita when this happens but the teacher can't be responsible for getting everyone dressed, it's part of what they're there to learn in primary school. draw half a circle in each shoe so he has to line them up, that's what I did with mine. practice at home. they get it quite quickly, I know it's hard when they're little, but give it a try. or get him to ask his teacher or ta if he's done it right before he goes to morning break, then they don't have to remember one more thing.

MadameButterface As I've said above, I've printed off some stickers for inside his shoes and will teach him at home. I'm not depending on them to teach him, just a cursory check rather than him running around for 6 hours with his shoes on the wrong feet.

Ask. You’re not requesting they dress him, just have a quick glance at his feet.

I teach secondary and spend much of my time when moving around the school getting kids to tie their shoe laces so they don’t hurt themselves. Am sure a cursory look at feet in passing isn’t beyond the capabilities of my primary colleagues.
